Renaissance Portsmouth-Norfolk Waterfront Hotel

Rooms are modern and decent size bathrooms. Lighting in the rooms are nice. The TV is a nice size and I love the views of the river and scenery from the rooms. I like the fire pits and bar and friendly staff at the restaurant.

No valet service. The parking garage is too far and not attached to the hotel. Also the garage is creepy and dark at night with no security driving around to monitor the garage. Also the service desk is too far from the front of the hotel and is a long walk especially for someone who has mobility issues. There should be more seating in the front of the hotel and staff to greet and more valet carts for that size hotel. Breakfast is expensive but does offer variety of options and has nice views for seating. Also the elevator is far away from the front door and check in desk. It would be nice to have a little live entertainment and themed nights on slow days or some type of music. The toilet in the bathroom is very small and low to the floor

The hotel itself was wonderful, and we had a very positive experience. However, the person who made the greatest impression on me was Selena, the receptionist working in the entrance and lobby area. While waiting in line to check in, I observed a guest speaking to Selena in a very impolite and disrespectful manner. Despite the guest’s highly negative attitude, Selena maintained her composure, grace, and professionalism throughout the interaction. She handled a difficult situation with remarkable patience and dignity. Watching Selena respond so professionally immediately made me feel safe, welcomed, and confident that we were in a hotel where guests would be treated with care and respect. When it was our turn to check in, she made us feel genuinely welcomed, valued, and appreciated. Although the hotel is beautiful and offers an excellent experience, Selena is one of the primary reasons I would return and give the Renaissance Hotel my business again. She is an exceptional representative of your organization and deserves to be recognized for the outstanding way she serves your guests. To pay extra for parking. I think it should be all included for guests staying in the hotel.

place was clean. good water pressure. right by the ferry. staff was great.

fridge didnt get cold. lots of minor maintenance issues
