Hampton Inn Coldwater

I was so happy from the moment that I walked into the lobby! Our car air conditioning decided to quit just before leaving for the hotel so we drove for 2 hours with no a/c and the weather was the typical Michigan muggy 90's weather. So walking into the lobby and our room was heaven. I had booked a few weeks previous to our stay and made a mistake on the date. Luckily, the front desk clerk was able to cancel the other reservation with no penalty. We came to the area a month previously and stayed at a different establishment. We couldn't travel the day that I had booked for that time and they wouldn't give us a refund. So I wouldn't use the same app again. The previous establishment in the area was horrible. When we walked into the lobby it didn't feel like they had air conditioning on in June with weather temperatures in the high 80's. The elevator was non existent and we were on the 2nd floor. I was happy to pay a bit more for much better, cleaner, already turned on air conditioning in our room at the Hampton Inn. The breakfast was great. I really wanted to use the pool but we just ran out of time. Thank you for an enjoyable, relaxing stay! The front desk staff was also wonderful as well. While checking in one of the ladies got us two bottles of cold water and a bag of pretzels for my significant other to enjoy after his drive. The next morning I asked if we could check out a bit later than the required time because we were going to see a children's performance at Tibbits Opera House, as my daughter had designed the costumes for it. That's why we have been in town in Jun and July is to support the summer theater and my children who works summer stock for the past two summers. After staying at a few of the hotels in the area I think that we will be continuing to stay at this hotel. I wasn't happy at all with the other places.

Only that I didn't have enough time to use the pool.

The breakfast was a disappointment. Uncooked potatoes both mornings. The 2nd morning: there wasn't coffee or bacon. There didn't seem to be enough staff at check in or in the breakfast area. When we did present feedback to the manager about the lack of coffee & bacon (for the 40 minutes we were downstairs for breakfast), she immediately started invalidating our experience.

The cleanliness was the best part and the people.

The beds and sofa bed were extremely uncomfortable, pool was dirty like green tint to it.
