As a two-star hotel, I didn't expect a lot, but I was impressed. Of course the room was clean; that is foundational. Also, there was an elevator (NEVER assume that will be true - always ask, or require a hotel to provide an accessible room). The room was functional, comfortable, and quiet. We checked out the pool - clean and inviting - but declined since a lightning storm had moved in. The courtyard ("garden") was actually pleasant with a big tree.
Things that instantly "up" the value of accommodations:
fridge / microwave
handy plugs and phone charging stations
coffee
appropriate counter space
enough trash cans
You can tell when thought has gone into a room's design.
Other amenities here:
Guest laundry room.
Fitness room.
Pool, actually in use.
Good breakfast in a comfortable dining area. Great selection.
If this is a two-star hotel, it's at the top of its class. I would stay again anytime.
No complaints. Everything went smoothly, and we were very comfortable. Breakfast was two-thumbs-up.

Great greeting by friendly, helpful receptionist.
The cold water dispenser right as you walk is such a gift. The Brentwood is a very good value and met our needs.
