It was a great experience. The room was nicely sized and had a generously sized television with a good serving of cable channels. I also appreciated the nicely furnished and decorated lobby, which I made use of briefly once during my stay.
The indoor pool is rather small, but well-maintained. If you go outside of peak hours, you might be able to enjoy it, but I wouldn't go when there are others there.
The breakfast was food enough - a little bit of egg and sausage and some carbs. A simple continental breakfast.
I really think the location is great. There's a well-stocked and friendly convenience store and a fast food restaurant right outside of the hotel - I would say not even a 2 minute walk. It was also very easy to get to King's Dominion on foot - you just have to cross the street and the massive parking lot. Also I like Doswell itself. It's a nice quiet rural little stopover town in the empty expanse between Richmond and Fredericksburg - you get a peaceful view of the sunset in the evenings without the traffic but you're still close enough to urban Richmond.
Probably the best thing about the hotel was the shower pressure. That thing can sure spray well!
If you're not on the upper floor, you might find the thinness of the material between floors to be unpleasant. Even just normal footsteps on the upper floor have a rather strong boom and clash to them.
This place is right next to train tracks. I like mechanical sounds, so it doesn't bother me much and I think the sound insulation was pretty decent with regards to the outside of the building, but it's still unusual and notable.
I was pleasantly surprised to find cable channels, but I came loaded with personal viewing material since their page on this site suggests they don't have cable here.
There are a few seedy-looking people here and there in the surrounding area. They didn't bother me, though, so it's fine.

Location great after day at kings dominion. Pool area to warm an high chlorine smell. Bed so so. Was let down on breakfast as all they had was lots of carbs. Protein was sausage and was boiled so just fair. Milk was ice cold and good an coffee was good too.
No eggs for breakfast. Weather hard boiled or scrambled. French toast sucked . Especially since u could make waffles
