The view of the Mackinaw Bridge, along with the beach and excellent sunsets were our favorites.
We had to switch to a different room because of low water pressure, the staff was excellent in providing us a new room. I recommend Room 10, spacious, comfortable and a better room all together. But, the shower doesn’t drain well. Bonus, better water pressure at certain times and bed comforts.

This was a last second trip to celebrate the 4th up north. The location on the beach with view of the bridge was great and seeing several different cities' fireworks from the beach was fabulous. It had aspects of a nostalgic roadside motel that I remembered as a kid and was glad to share that with my family. We liked the little beach and nice sidewalk for our son to ride his little bike. The beds weren't too bad. One of the rooms had a toilet that wouldn't fill with water and the maintenance guy (very nice) did come late and fixed it.
Overall if the rooms got a good deep cleaning and some updates to the carpet and bathroom it would be a gem. It doesn't need to be fancy but should be clean. There was a noticeable musty smell in both rooms we rented. One of the rooms didn't seem prepped all the way as the toilet seat was removed and the lamp was on the floor. The staff wasn't unfriendly but didn't seem overly excited to help either. For example, we arrived about 2:30 for a 4pm check in. I didn't necessarily expect to get in but decided to check with the office. They said the rooms weren't ready but to come back in about 45 mins, which was good with me. We went to our motel (one office for 4 different locations) and decided to stretch our legs on the beach while we waited. There was 1 other car in the parking lot and we never saw another person on the property in the 45 mins we waited. I thought that was odd given I was told they were still working on the rooms. I went back to the office and they were magically now ready. That wasn't the end of the world for me, but definitely didn't start things out on the best of terms.
