Key West Inn - Fairhope

Pros: So many pros that they kept my score at 8. The hotel was: clean, reasonably priced, nice location, good breakfast, well-lit, pet-friendly, cool air, nice pool, friendly and kind staff, easy access to pet areas, secure, within walking distance to restaurants, large TV, comfy beds, ample square footage, cool outdoor gathering area, nicely scented toiletries. The lobby and room smelled nice. The man checking us in was very nice and helpful.

Cons: There were people partying loudly outside maybe at the pool, but I couldn’t tell where it was coming from. Two women staying at the hotel were smoking right outside our door the entire time we were there. I mean, step outside at any given time and there was smoke filling the air. Opened the door to my car and smoke wafted in, from them smoking in their car with their windows down, right next to mine. Not sure what room was theirs, but they chose our room to smoke in front of, sometimes sitting on the sidewalk and sometimes in their car. I mentioned it to the woman at the front desk and she acted like they had no control over it, but isn’t there a “no smoking less than 25 ft of building” rule? This will keep me from staying there again. It’s a shame because it’s a great hotel at a reasonable price.

Wow! there is a sign out front that asks us to tell the staff if there is anything they can do to make the stay more fabulous. And they mean it! Bijau was so kind - she came up to me and said she had just brewed coffee and would I like a cup. Everyone was raving about the variety of breakfast: hard boiled eggs, waffles, grits, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, bagels...and the list goes on. I wanted to come back and stay here. Fairhope is adorable and relaxing and full of great shops to explore. And the TV offered streaming services! yay! I've recommended this place to my friends.

Nothing! It was GREAT.

Conveniently located, clean, comfortable, good hot breakfast! Would definitely stay here again!

updated room

although the room was updated and clean, the smell was old and strong. very much needed fresh air. Outside walls and floor needed cleaning and painted going up the steps
