Passable
Loved the porch. We know the area so weren't surprised at the location.
Cord for AC runs across the path to the doorway used to access the best feature, the porch. Outlets did not have covers...quite a few fire hazards. The shower was painted and the paint from the bottom of the shower was peeling and coming off on our feet. No mirror at all, anywhere. I had to go into my car to put on my makeup. I'm not a princessy girl and have stayed in a variety of places, but this one was a bit rough. Rougher than expected.

Disgustingly awful experience. Go ANYWHERE else but here. Don't say I didn't warn you.
NOTHING. When we arrived, there was nobody in the office to help check in. Another couple arrived to check in just before us and they found the man and he helped them first while we waited outside. Before he stepped in to help them, he asked what we needed. While I couldn't remember the word "reservation", I told him he had booked a place online. He very aggressively said "What you're trying to say is you have a reservation? Wait here" he demanded. When he came out with the couple to explain where they were to go, he told them cabin 7. When the woman repeated to confirm "cabin 7?", he condescendingly started slowly counting to 7 out loud with his fingers. Meanwhile she was pointing out and questioning the cabin number because he directed them to a cabin that was already occupied as the woman pointed across the street to a kid who had walked out of the cabin he just gave them a key to. Already a little creeped out and shaken, we were now extremely skeptical of this place. When it was our turn to go inside, he was less than friendly and almost interrogating us. Feeling extremely uncomfortable but also figuring there was no place else to go on such late notice, (being almost 6pm already) we reluctantly continued with the check in process. He asked us where we were parked and it wasn't where we should be, though the parking lot that was meant for guests wasn't labelled or marked in any way and we parked on a different side street. He shouted that we were in the wrong area and vaguely described where we should be instead. As we pull into a tiny and bumpy parking lot, the man is sitting on a picnic bench with his back towards us, chatting with a woman. The woman sees us stopped at the parking lot entrance and motions to us and tells him several times that there are people wanting his attention. He continues his conversation, not giving us a glance and finally when he is finished, he confirms which spot we should park in.
After parking and getting out while all of our red flag detectors in our heads are going off, he hands us a key and tells us its door 21, the first door on the left once you walk into the main door of a house. No where in the booking did we know or see that we were staying in a room in a house. Wanting to leave immediately but worried we'd be sleeping in our car if we don't stay here, again we gave benefit of the doubt and walked in to check out the room. The room itself wasn't totally awful, however our window which was on the same wall that the bed was against, looked directly onto the porch where people could see right into our room. Two women sat right outside our window smoking and chatting and we could hear and smell everything. Then the door opening and closing constantly as there are other occupied rooms in this house while we were right at the front of the house hearing everything. We decided at this moment that we would do anything except stay here any longer. We knew the moment we didn't grab our bags from the car immediately, that we were not likely to stay here. As a couple we quickly decided that we would sleep in the car before staying in this house. We quickly got onto the Wi-Fi while sitting on the very uncomfortable, squeaky bed and immediately found and booked a new reservation somewhere else, 5-10 minutes away. We trusted our gut and didn't stay at a place that had multiple red flags flashing in many different areas, for both of us. We put in a formal complaint to Booking.com and to the property owner, to request a refund, to be told by the property that our complaint is ridiculous and nobody has ever had such a problem. (Reviews say otherwise) That would be the final red flag, and proof of the attitude and lack of respect we received from the start. If you want to enjoy your vacation and feel safe and respected: DO NOT stay here. This place is garbage and has a degrading, disrespectful, unprofessional, and negligent owner.

We enjoyed getting away for a couple days. Was expecting better, but can't really complain.
The room was clean, although small. The location was handy to the downtown area. The staff was helpful.
Was disappointed that the pool area was across a busy street and not right at the location of where we stayed. The parking was tight.
