It was SO quiet, I loved that. The breakfast that was included with my stay was a real, cooked to order breakfast- you just have to walk a block to their sister location to eat. And it was an easy walk to and from downtown. I would definitely recommend this stay!
I originally booked their most economical room, which Booking.com said had a private bathroom. I didn’t realize that that meant a private bathroom outside of the bedroom, across the hall. Thank goddess I called about another question and the property owner upgraded my room, because I would’ve really had a conniption if I had arrived and found out my bathroom wasn’t even in my room. But that didn’t happen, and I loved my room, and it was really great that they upgraded me.
Some of the descriptions for the rooms and the location of breakfast could’ve been clearer on Booking.com.

The accommodations were clean and spacious. The breakfast was amazing and a great way to start the day. Our hosts were interesting, cheerful and very accommodating. The neighborhood was quiet. A great place to stay in Portland!
Lots of steps to climb with our suitcases, but that was a minor inconvenience.

Stayed two nights here with my partner and it was OK. We were at the 146 pine st location. The facilities were fine—perfectly clean and had the basics, though we thought the rooms looked nicer online than in person. The neighborhood was really nice though and the area felt safe—definitely one of the nicer areas in Portland. Parking was also very easy.
The 146 pine st location of West End Inn is unstaffed (or at least was from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning when we stayed there). We let ourselves in with a key code. Overall it felt pretty odd and eerie that we didn’t see a single person there all weekend (guests or staff).
