I had never heard of this hotel but I was pleasantly surprised. It has a warm and cozy feel. The staff was great. My family especially enjoyed the king suite! It was comfortable. The location of the breakfast was spacious, clean and very comfortable. I was particularly thankful that the TV programming in the dining area was family friendly. The pool and hot tub appeared inviting though I didn't swim. The hotel is only about a 30 minute drive from the Des Moines airport and Drake University. Downtown was closer.I used Uber to get around town.
I was less pleased with the hot breakfast selection because it was the same daily and the food wasn't very tasty. Also, I wish bottled or filtered water was available. I think a hotel should offer complimentary bottled water. The hotel's location was a good distance from any restaurants so you have to drive. However, there's a gas station/convenience store next door. The pizza was good.

Breakfast was great! There was a good selection, it was tasty, and everything was clean. My room was wonderful, neat, clean, well maintained, and I liked the lighting. Some motels have very dim lighting over the mirror and you can’t see! The staff there was wonderful, especially Sara who checked me in.

Breakfast was very gross. The taste. The smell even the orange juice tasted like mint. The spa was out of order. The room felt damp. The floor the pillows.
