Located in the Garden District, you'll be traveling to or from the French Quarter a fair bit. The tram is literally straight past the front door though, cheap and easy route to understand. WW2 museum is walking distance.
Staff were in the main part really good, just the odd difficult individual. (Having a bad day? Shouldn't be on the front desk)
Jack Rose restaurant is beautifully decorated, staff fabulous, food just ok.
Small collection of minibar items in the room, but can't open a lot of it as no bottle opener. Inquired for one, told we had to bring the bottles downstairs to get them opened ?? WTF? Bottle openers are like a $1 guys, sort it.

This is a lovely old hotel in a very classy area of New Orleans that is a true gem. It is best to understand what this place is all about and be looking for all that it has to offer before booking. The renovations that they did during 2023-2024 are excellent without changing the overall aesthetic of the place. We loved the retro mid-century ambiance and everything about our room was great. Yes, you can go a few blocks one way or the other and be in areas you don't really want to go, but we felt safe in this location and even felt safe walking St. Charles at night.
The fact that the hotel is right on the trolley line is fantastic. What a selling point! We used it for all our transportation needs during our stay. So fascinating, fun, and practical!
Everyone brags about the rooftop bar. We are in our late middle ages and we didn't think much of it. Way too small and 120 decibel music is not our vibe. Definitely a young crowd sort of place.
The only other disappointment was that the Jack Rose restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and those just happened to be our dates.
