The welcome was amazing from the reception/owner. Showed us around the building, security codes to get in after hours, designated parking etc
The lady was so invested in making us feel welcome it was lovely. The hotel is very old and quirky with a lot of history so this was taken into consideration when scoring. Has onsite restaurant providing meals. Breakfast was self serve. Unlimited soda and coffee.
Room was clean and had minimal lighting but sufficient. Some ladies may want more light if applying make up for example. Bathroom was clean, shower was hot and plenty of towels supplied. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept well. We had a 2 night stay.
Right in the heart of Deadwood it was accessible to lots of bars, restaurants and sightseeing.
The air con runs on a central system so unable to turn off in room. This came on ever 20 mins or so which was a little distracting. Attempts to adjust in room made no difference. However, it did not necessarily detract from the overall stay.

Beds were comfy, room was pretty, the location was great, and the owner was very nice and happy to chat! We're hoping to visit again when we have a little more time to stay and explore!
Only thing we didn't like was the elevator since it bounces a bit when you get in, which triggered my motion sickness. Otherwise it was a lovely stay!
