The hotel is over a hundred years old so quess what, it will be a bit eclectic. If you like modern and shiny do not go there. It’s pretty funky but we really liked exploring the hotel and reading the history. Our room was on the street side but spacious. The bed was comfortable. Yes there is noise but it quieted down after 10pm.
Probably some of the common areas and mostly nooks and crannies could have been cleaned up and staged better.

Location and a great bartender in the bar!!!
The fact that after check in and putting items in our room we left to explore. Upon coming back I used our key, and walked into another person in our room coming out with just a towel on. It was amazing since we had items in the room. The staff didn’t seem to care at all!!! NO apologies nothing.

no help with luggage, only one chair in room, poor lighting. only way to read in bed was to have the overhead light on

Carpet in the room was disgusting. Can only guess how much mold is present.
