Renovated historic hotel with lovely decorations and modern amenities. Community balcony is a lovely place to enjoy an evening nightcap or morning coffee. Spotlessly clean. Towels are very plush and cooshie! Innkeeper and housekeeper were lovely. Bedding and pillows were very comfortable, as was the bed.
This hotel is on the second floor with 20+ stairs. This was not something I anticipated and with bad knees, it was an effort to get up the stairs, esp with luggage. The hotel is in on the main drag through Mariposa so if you are staying during the week, be prepared for some early morning noises (garbage trucks, nearby construction, etc.).

The breakfast was ok, it was not like a buffet or a hot breakfast, more like snacks, a cupcake, but it was ok to take the breakfast to go
The shower, is a tub with a small cord shower, so you cannot take a stand-up shower

Mary the innkeeper was a wonderful host. Check in was a breeze and she provided excellent local information, especially about the YARTS bus system. The room was very spacious, sparkling clean and the towels were so fluffy and soft! The outside sitting area was clean and peaceful with entire flocks of hummingbirds coming to feed. I loved everything about my stay.
The stairs can be daunting if you have heavy luggage, but that's just how a mountain village will be.

Friendly local feel, great bed.
Property is dated but adds to the charm

The very old hotel is charming and in the middle of Mariposa down town , very easy to take the bus to go to Yosemite valley.
Terrace for the breakfast was really nice.
May be , a little bit : the smell of the old building but it is a very little detail.

The place looks like it hasn't been renovated or maintained in 20 years and the decoration is something from a century ago

Staying at the Inn was like staying with family. Mary, the Innkeeper, is a superb hostess. If you want to experience a great B&B experience, this is the place. Morning continental breakfast on the deck watching a flight of hummingbirds feed is a delightful way to start each morning. Also, the Inn is located on the Main Street of Mariposa, within walking distance of excellent restaurants and bars.
Not a thing but I will warn people that the Inn is on the second floor and the front stairs are steep (1901 style).
My wife and I are in our 70’s and this did not pose a problem. Besides, if you are in Mariposa (excellent base) to explore Yosemite and its many hiking trails, ascending the stairs is nothing.

The hotel manager was amazing! Really kind woman who talked to us daily and even gave us a bigger room and some fruits and food for our journey after having stayed there for a couple of days.

The location is about 50 minutes to Yosemite gate..from the gate it’s about 15-20 mins to Yosemite valley/Curry village. The breakfast was continental pastries , yogurt etc (coffee was delicious)..very clean rooms and hotel ..Hostess super kind ! Love the town of Mariposa.. everything seems to close early around 9 pm but surprisingly very good restaurants within walking distance. Our room had small mini refrigerator, small compact hair blow dryer.. not much parking in front but go to back plenty parking there.. note there is no elevator and the hotel is a floor up which means lots of stairs.
The hotel is dated but that adds to the coziness and it was so super clean it was great.

3 words: Quaint, clean, comfortable We didn’t know places like this existed anymore in California. We enjoyed our stay from the moment we walked up the long stairway to check in with Mary the charming owner. We enjoyed the decorations and its original authentic feel. The communal balcony where we drank our wine and ate breakfast was relaxing. We spent our evening next door in the fun and well stocked beer tavern Hideout Saloon. My husband couldn’t ask for a better 62nd birthday after finally qualifying to get his lifetime pass to the National Parks.
Love it all.
