The place has been fully renovated and was spotless. Staff was pleasant. It presents a workable model for inexpensive hostel/hotel accomodations going forward. I had a private room perhaps 1/3 below market in that part of town. I was in a back room and it was very quiet.
The duvee was too thick and too hot. They offered a sheet and the heaviest, hottest feather down cover I have ever had to contend with. I arrived back at the room late and didn't realize the problem until their door staff had left at 11 pm. The room was in AC mode, set to 68 degrees—not warn enough to go simply with a sheet but not nearly cool enough for the mother of all comforters. I had to go online at 2 in the morning to look up a manual so I could adjust the control panel for the AC/heater unit. I wasn't able to get back to sleep, but that's my wrinkle. I will say that the AC/heater unit was state of the art, far more efficient (and quiet) than old American standards, but the staff had not aligned its settings with the current weather. The bedding was inflexible. If there had been a simply spread or light blanket all would have been well. As it was, I couldn't sleep.
