The location is very convenient to local restaurants and is just off the highway to get to downtown Raleigh and the airport. There's plenty of free parking and the hotel is located in a quiet area off the main road with limited road noise.
Although the Red Roof Inn is a budget choice and the expectation needs to be practical, this particular hotel was a bit of a disappointment. The bed was of low quality and the springs were collapsed on one side. In fact, we had to ask for a room change. The bed in this room was a bit better but still was uncomfortable and noisy.
The hallway in the annex building where our room was located had a strong odor, possibly from the cleaning fluid used to clean the floors.
