Hilton Garden Inn Long Island City

Great staff!

The luggage cart was not very useful

We liked that the hotel was very close to the subway, you were only a few stops away for all the big tourist attractions, if you had a car, there was a carpark (you have to pay) next door. There is a convenience/deli store next door too so the microwave in our room was ideal after you had paid the store a visit.!! Check in was nice and easy, $50 deposit per night was required which would of been nice to of been informed about after we made the booking. The room was ok, quite small for the price per night and as I booked the room for myself and my 21 year old daughter, she wanted to sleep on the pull out sofa but when pulled out, it took up the rest of the room so the room felt very cramped. The queen bed was very comfortable, pillows were nice, extra in the wardrobe and blankets. Bathroom was lovely, lots of lovely little extras but water was leaking out the shower door which made the floor very wet!! Loved the coffee machine in the room and tv was great 👍 Breakfast was good, not great but ok. There were added extras you could pay for and personally for the price of the room per night and extra for the buffet breakfast, I was a little shocked it wasnt included but the buffet was nice, little hot food counter, cereals,fresh fruit, breads and pastries. On the first morning I did notice the yogurts were oit of date, I did tell the young chap, he didn't take much notice and on the second morning the same yogurts were still on the counter and there were fruit flies around the fruit which put me off a little. There is a small restaurant which you can go to for dinner but we had uber eats delivered which gave us alot more choice. There is a gym and a launderette in the basement (u need to pay for the launderette but I don't think it was much) There is a rooftop garden which i asked the receptionist how do we go about getting up there but she said it was only for guests in the presidential suite!!

Dont want to keep harping on about the cost but for the amount I paid, I expected nicer and bigger rooms,especially for the Hilton brand!!!

The rooms were clean and quiet. It was very close to the metro, and the supermarket that is right next door is very handy. We were also able to leave our luggage till the evening after we checked out.

Our mattress had a broken spring, so one side of the mattress was sunken in, making it very uncomfortable to sleep. The staff mentioned as we booked through booking.com, no compensation for this was possible.

The location was good, considering how crowded Queens and NYC is.

The breakfast was not complementary as promised by booking. the hotel has 2 elevators, but only one was working. It takes a long time to reach the 11th floor.
