We stayed at the Lucent on two occasions on this trip. The first was for 8 nights, 7/11-7/19. The second was for 2 nights, 7/31-8/2. This property/ parking felt very safe and secure. I am a coffee drinker and appreciated the 24-hour coffee service. The complimentary breakfast was satisfactory. Safeway is right next door! The location to Stanford Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, was very convenient. Depending on traffic, door to door we could be there within 7 minutes. We did enjoy the quick walk to all the fabulous restaurants and shopping Main Street, Menlo Park. Eve and the entire team at Hotel Lucent made us feel at home (like family) during our stay. The firepit seating and spa/pool courtyard area is charming!!! The fitness center is set up just right for a quick workout.
Adjusting to a higher humidity level the room had a tendency to smell a little "damp" when you first walk in.

The location is excellent- close to Stanford stadium, stanford shopping mall with excellent shops and dept stores. Also close to restaurants .
Staff- always no one at the reception.
Some Staff does not speak english . there were no reception when i checked out and available staff has language barrier.
Breakfast- during breakfast omelette keeps running out and had to wait several times. Not sure if hotel is short staff

Location was great and staff was really nice people.
My room (which was supposedly a premium one) smelled really bad (like dirty and wet carpets that have created an almost unbearable stench). I had 5 other colleagues staying in other rooms of the same hotel who had the same complaint about bad smell in the rooms. Prices are not cheap for such a fundamental flaw ruins the experience.
