Very clean room. Super super friendly staff. Was fairly cold when there staff even went as far to start a fire so we could be outside and star gaze.
There wasn't anything. But I drive a very large truck parking lot couldn't park it but they did have a grassey place to park.

There was no breakfast which is fine, just wish there was a Dunkin's close by. However there were bottles of water in the refrigerator, a coffee maker and a basket with snacks which was a nice touch!
The mattress was a little too soft compared to our mattress at home.

Not a negative but beware that if you are taller then 5’6 and weigh more then 150lbs you will not fit in the tiny shower.

The room was impeccable. Nicely put together. Separate freezer and fridge and a microwave. Kind staff. Flowers everywhere. Welcoming attitudes. Clean. Very clean. Comfortable. Wonderful shower pressure. Nice view outside too.

A superb stay at this lovely LGBT-friendly motel in gorgeous Vermont during late September. A lot of love has gone into this motel and it shows - from the warm cinnamon welcome in the lobby to the exceptionally clean and tidy room. My mum and I stayed in the yellow sunflower room; a double with 2 big comfy beds and an ensuite bathroom (with toilet, sink and shower) and views overlooking the pretty front and back gardens - had the weather been better, we'd have been out there in the chairs soaking up the view! Our room had the self-catering essentials (fridge & microwave) along with a few complimentary snacks. Shelly was lovely to chat with and very helpful in recommending local eateries, supermarkets, and sightseeing - we initially came for the Robert Frost house but she suggested Hildene when we checked out (which we did visit and were thoroughly impressed by!)
My mum and I slept brilliantly and despite being on historic route 7a, there was zero road noise. We stayed in several big name hotels during our holiday, and can honestly say that Governor's Rock Motel was one of the best stays of all! Nothing was too much trouble; comfort, cleanliness and friendliness was a major plus. An exceptional motel, would definitely return!! Thank you Shelly & Lisa for a fantastic stay 😊

Great location between Bennington and Manchester
If you're staying during heating season...there is an annoying ticking sound in room #4 as the heat kicks on. Bring earplugs, it is not conducive to sleeping.

This is a nicely renovated, mom-and-pop motel. Our room was clean and cheerful, and quiet. Grounds are well-kept and attractive. Excellent value for the price. The complimentary basket of snacks and bottled waters were much appreciated when we rolled in late in the evening. The historic location is a plus.
Bath towels should be larger; shower was quite small, although neither of these really detracted from our overall satisfaction with the place. One issue I did have was that it was necessary to book online and have the card charged several days in advance. We had previously booked there over the phone and were told that if cancellation was necessary to do so two days in advance, and were not required to pay until arrival. There seemed to be some confusion this time, since we received a text en-route, asking for our arrival time and advising us that the office closed at 9:30 p.m., which was irrelevant because we had already paid days before as required by booking.com. And we had taken the time days before to call and make arrangements for late arrival, and were told how to access the room if we arrived late. Overall everything went smoothly but it was a bit disconcerting to be questioned after we had already made a point of making the arrangements. This was repeated when my husband went to the office the next day to request more coffee and was told "oh, you're okay, you've already paid." We were well aware of that. There just seems to be a disconnect between the online payment and the office. Again, we were very satisfied with our stay overall, and would happily stay again. Just putting this out there in case others who book through booking.com experience the same disconnect between the technology and the humans.

The back yard had a nice setting and out front had chairs to sit in and a place for a bon fire.. Nice location. Check in and out was easy and the owner was real helpful in referring places to see and eat.
Didn t see a moose or Bear.. No fault to the Motel. Wish shower was bigger but no fault to the motel.

The hotel was out in the country on a little used main road. The accommodations met all my requirements. There were little touches that you don't get staying in a chain hotel.
The hotel website showed the per night rate but I was not able to get the rate and was told to use Booking.com. The rate was $22 more per night using booking.com vs. what the hotel website said.

Didn’t even know there was a breakfast!
I never had internet in my room. If I went outside and sat in the chair I could get it. Made life a little hard. Everything is a bit tired.

Owner was very nice, and while I didn’t bring a dog I appreciated that it was pet friendly for future stays. Clearly an older property being updated, but in good condition and they’re doing a nice job.
Nice and simple; nothing fancy. Single ply toilet paper because they’re on a septic system.
