Breakfast was good with a decent variety of things laid out the night before. I didn’t spend much time, but could take a little trail food for later
I loved walking around the immediate property. Truly a mountain lodge with all kinds of outdoor sitting areas and activities plus an interesting blend of travelers and locals
I also appreciated the bamboo key cards. Never seen them before. Great idea to avoid plastic
I would have preferred a firmer mattress, but not a big deal

Had dinner in the restaurant. Had a Philly cheesesteak sandwich which came with lettuce and tomatoes which is odd for a Philly. But the thinly sliced steak was the best tasting meat I have ever had in a Philly sandwich. Friendly staff was another bonus!

The hotel staff was helpful in answering questions about nearby places to visit. And when there was a wildfire closeby due to which we had to change our plans and cut short our stay, the staff was helpful in issuing us a refund because of that.
The restaurant and the food arrangement is really bad. First of all, there is nothing else closeby, so we are at the mercy of the hotel restaurant when it came to food. When we booked, the hotel says that the breakfast is included. However, when we reached there it turns out that they issue us coupons for breakfast for $8 which we can use for the breakfast. The actual cost of the breakfast is nowhere close to that, it's around $25 if we order cautiously including taxes and tips (since it is a sit down restaurant). So we ended up paying the additional money on our own. I highly recommend them to not advertise breakfast included. Then, the restaurant staff kept on messing up our orders. None of us got what we ordered. First they ran out of almost everything at 8.30 pm for dinner when the closing time is 9 pm. So we had to order whatever is left and had to ask for few substitutions. The staff did not inform us about the upcharge of the substitutions and it wasn't mentioned anywhere on the menu. Basically, be very cautious ordering anything at this place and ask for any additional cost wherever possible. $5 upcharge for substituting chicken with pork sausage without informing us is not a pleasant experience especially when we have no choice since they have run out of other menu items - at least inform us upfront.
