Our room was comfortable and well-appointed, including nice robes and other amenities in the bathroom.

The room was fine, though the ceiling in our room needed painting in a few spots (as noted in a previous Trip Advisor review), and the window air-conditioning unit was loud and rattling. Thankfully, we could use the vertical fan in the room. Breakfast was ample, but the room where it was served was so small that you could easily hear guests talking at other tables. One couple had to sit in the lobby with their breakfast served on a coffee table. I would not classify this place as a day spa. My daughter and I both got massage treatments, and our experiences differed quite a bit, as far as having an experienced masseuse. Unfortunately, the massage rooms are on the second floor across from guest rooms and weren't conducive to a quiet, restful experience. We could hear people walking in the room above us, and when the masseuse opened a window (not sure why), we could hear all the street noise. When we checked out, no one was at the desk, so a teenager who was talking on the phone in the kitchen had to run upstairs to get the manager. I suggested to the owner that he consider locating massage rooms on the top floor, to which he quite abruptly answered, "Absolutely not." He then said they have whirlpool tubs on the 3rd floor, making it impossible. Having stayed at numerous B&Bs over many years, I expect the host and staff to know their guests and be very amenable. This was not our experience.

The Inn is an old house. It has a lot of charm and the ambience is relaxing. Our bed was soft and our room was quiet. The front porch is quaint. I think there is a back porch too, but we didn't realize that until the day we left.

The breakfast was disappointing. They basically were offering one item. The morning we were there they were making eggs Benedict. Because I mentioned I had never had eggs Benedict before, the woman serving everyone that day only gave me half my breakfast. She said she would give me the other half if I liked it. She got busy and never came back to check so I never got my other half, yet was charged for a full breakfast. I thought the whole exchange was odd and it dampened my overall experience at the Inn. If we go back to La Conner I would probably check out other properties. The Wild Iris is right next store.
