A beautiful property.
We stayed in a cottage. It needs to be made very clear that from the cottages you can only access the main hotel by car or by walking 300 metres across an airstrip and 200 metres along a road. Hardly what you want to do to go for a leisurely swim.
The cottage we stayed in is lovely and very peaceful.
Breakfast coffee served in the urns is awful, completely lacking in taste.
Dinner was pricey and nothing special.

The stunning, historic architecture was magical. Every room, every garden, every fountain, every courtyard was infused with the essence of Sicily. The breakfasts and dinners were outstanding. There were exquisite variations on the recipes my Sicilian mother made (sauteed artichoke hearts, for example), and a breakfast spread to tempt the gods, in a room of limestone arches and wooden beams. At the pinnacle, was the staff. Each one, from my greeting upon arrival to my tearful departure, was unforgettable. Genuine kindness is hard to find, but I found it at Eremo Della Giubiliana.
I didn't like leaving, but I knew I will be returning, so it was bittersweet!
