Been there a few times and will continue to stay there for a weekend get away.

Quiet, great fish station, close to all u need not far from the beach.

The only thing i didn’t like is the hard mattress, was rough on my body. Only 1 thing

A really nice place to stay!

My wife and I (mid-60’s) were traveling through the area and happened upon this little inn. On road trips we often and prefer to stay at 50’s/60’s style motor inns simply for the convenience of being able to drive right up to your room, but often they can be a little drab and tired. This place has been completely refreshed and we were blown away by the quality of the accommodation! From the comfort of the beds, to the lovely plantings and exterior seating area, to the new but funky colored retro appliances, everything was top notch. While some places might offer in room coffee, if you’re lucky—in addition to coffee (Wolfgang Puck) in room selections at the Mermaid also included tea, hot chocolate, and breakfast bars! All this at a cost that while not inexpensive, is comparable to the area and indeed was less than a local Motel 6 we considered. Great little Mexican restaurant next door and close to many others, but be mindful that eateries tend to close early here 8/8:30–at least when we visited in mid-September. Would not hesitate to stay here again and wish we would have had more time to explore all the area has to offer!

In this day of multiple personal electronic devices, it would have been nice to have a few more conveniently placed outlets. I’m sure this could be accomplished with some power strips or lamps with charging ports, etc.

Long Beach is remote, but the drive out there is beautiful and worth he effort!

The Mermaid Inn was welcoming and decorated in a 1950/60’s style. They had parking spaces right outside the room, and a porch, with tables and chairs for each unit. The owner was helpful with suggestions on restaurants and local history. It was a pleasant place to stay with good value.

There was no breakfast, but they had a coffee maker in the room.

Cute and comfortable

This place is cute, quaint and comfortable. It's a short drive to the downtown Long Beach area and to beach access. The owners have definitely made it nice with all of the flowers and places to hang out outside. A nice touch is having a table and chairs right outside your door, a good size refrigerator, a microwave, a fan and coffee pot in your room.

My room had a little musty smell and the shower curtain needs to be cleaned.

Location: I appreciate it is not right in town, Longbeach can be a bit of a party town, not so much my scene. We were able to park and ride our bikes all over as needed. The beach and the Discovery trail can be picked up just a few blocks away. The rooms are large, and the linens were cute and super soft. The mermaid theme is held throughout the property in a fun way. The property doesn't have air conditioning but the breeze from the ocean and a provided fan worked very nicely. I have stayed in similar locations and had to either bring a fan or wish I had, fans are not something easy to pack. Cute fridge and microwave provided. The rooms are big, plenty of free space with a provided table and comfy chairs that also looked mid century cool.

The carpeting had recently been cleaned and smelt good, but didn't look so good. I'm guessing the owners would like to replace the flooring in the future, understanding that is an expense, and they have already done so much hard work on the place, and I can appreciate keeping cost down. Carpet is so challenging to keep in good shape in a beach town.

Nice, clean accommodations for a good value. We loved the retro vibe and everyone was nice.

Really cute decor, had a nice retro feel and it was clean. The flowers were a really nice touch. We had comfy pillows and the bed was also comfy. Made all the difference!

The only thing was the shower. It was really small.

Great location, very close to the Beach access road. Loved the mermaid theme. Beds were comfortable, place was cozy and quiet.

The rooms are warm, clean and cozy with very nice mermaid decor, historical info about Long beach on walls and beautiful vintage touches. Lots of thought and heart went into these rooms! The beds are super comfortable with soft comforter blankets and soft sheets covered with beautiful mermaid bedspread. Hot shower is a plus too!! Great Tahirts and in their mini gift shop top! In the summer months you can relax in their outdoor area and do some barbecue. Hoping to see a hot tub in the near future 😀 The staff is very nice and hospitable people. Will definitely be booking again soon. Thank you 😀

Comfortable and clean

this motel is really sweet....the host was outstanding. He shared restaurants and upgraded our room for one with more space. We will chose The Mermaid Inn from now on

Cute place to stay. Clean room and property were well kept and clean. Dawn the housekeeper left our room perfect with extra towels and blankets that we didn't need. The room was very clean. We loved it and will be back again.

The cutest little place with the nicest staff ive ever come across! Great prices too!

Our only issue was our room had an adjoining door, and our neighbors were super loud the first night. Not the hotels problem, but were definitely going back!
