Excellent breakfast. Polite and accommodating staff. Comfortable room. There is a very nice park across the road if you want to go for a walk with all kinds of facilities (swimming pool, skating, gym)
Hotel is somewhat further away from the downtown so if you want to explore the area you either need to take a bus (the stop is about block away) or get a cab/ride a scooter. Also, there is no convenience store nearby (nearest is about 15 min walk at least). This was not a big deal for us since we only used this hotel as "book end" days before and after our main trip.

Nice breakfast set up.
I really did not expect that as a single room, I would have to lug my luggage up and down stairs. Then in the morning I was told that I could not leave the card keys in my room, I had to bring it to the front desk. This adds to the time. So I had to lug my luggage up the stairs then go to 2nd floor then catch elevator to first floor which is really busy in the morning. Just added to the stress of meeting the bus on time. The cups in the bathroom are very pretty but due to the uneven face up and down and sideways, it almost slipped from my hands. The cups in Kea Hotel Akureyri were simple, good looking, light and did the job.
