Relaxed. Comfortable. Spacious. Clean. POOL😀

I’ve always liked the Monte Pio. I love the feel of the place. I’ll always come back

The only thing that was a little disappointing & it’s probably nobody’s fault. We couldn’t get all the channels on the TV. & it was only annoying because the channels I couldn’t get were the ones I wanted to watch but we were out most of the time so it wasn’t a biggie.

Unpleasant stay, dirty & mouldy rooms

The spa bath and parking

My partner and I left a day early, that’s how unpleasant our stay was. Firstly the rooms need MAJOR upgrading! When entering the room it smelt so bad, the carpets are old and filthy, we had water leaking in our room, ants crawling everywhere, mould all over the curtains, the leather bed frame old and worn and chipping away onto the bed. We went to plug our charger in behind the bed and it was absolutely disgusting which is why we left a day early from our holiday as we didn’t want to stay in the room any longer. Water leaks throughout the building being collected in boxes, the old smelling stench throughout the building is overwhelming. Would not recommend to stay especially due to the excessive mould in the rooms extremely unsafe especially for families with young children or older individuals.

nice reasonably priced hotel, fairly close to Maitland central business district.

Very clean, spacious room, comfortable bed. I liked the fact there were extra blankets as well as a doona for the bed so you could adjust for hot or cold sleepers. Easy on-site parking and friendly staff, very good value for money.

Room was a little 'tired'. Sheer curtains in the room were torn, there were other curtains that were fine but it's a sign that the room was a little run down. Other minor issues like the power button on the TV remote didn't work (had to turn the TV on by the switch at the back) and the heating in the reverse cycle airconditioning couldn't be reduced below 24 degrees. There is also a bit of noise transference from other rooms.

Excellent - will stay again

Beautiful old building with modern upgrades. Our room allowed us to view the lovely sunset. Dining room filled with memorabilia from its original use as a nunnery.

Minor complaints... No glasses for drinking water although there were wine glasses. Shower was lukewarm.

Steaming weekend

The staff were excellent .. extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms were comfortable and bed warm .. lovely veiw from our room .I would stay there again in a heart beat 💓

There was nothing not to like .. was quiet far enough away but close enough .. public transport at the door ..no complaints about this place.

our room had no outside windows, there was a ridiculously loud vibration in the floor that did stop. we advised reception but he really wasn’t interested. the bed was ridiculously hard. on a good note the lady who checked us in was lovely. we would not return to this place

good for short stay

plenty of parking spaces the best part of the room was the bathroom. it’s been updated and the showers were insane (in a good way)

The smell… it’s too overpowering. We actually found the machine which sprays the scent non stop. because the smell is overwhelming, you can smell there is no ventilation or fresh air involved. the room is also very dim. the bedside lamp is brighter than all the lights in the room combined.

I wasn't informed when I arrived that you had to order from the minibar menu by a certain time because wasn't in the room. By the time I got back from dinner it was too late to order a simple bottle of water for overnight

Nice convenient location, great staff, just could do with a freshen up and some updated equipment

The location was easily accessible and perfect for our needs. The entrance to the hotel was quite pleasant. The staff were helpful and courteous. The bed was comfy.

No microwave in the room. There was a bit of mould on the windows and ceilings. The TV is too old and doesn't play all the channels. Basically the rooms could do with some sprucing up.

Nice Hotel in a good location

This hotel is extremely comfortable. The room we had was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very well set out. The breakfast, whilst is wasn't a full buffet as expected we were able to order hot options which was fine. The cost of breakfast was reasonable for the quality.

Not much not to like, especially nothing worth mentioning.

Rasonably comfortable for overnight stay. A targeted minor renovation would take property to next level.

lovely location and reception. Older style building with a mixture of cultures incorporated which is lovely.

Bed sagged. Light filtered through curtains & door. Noisy from other bathrooms. Curtains need updating from the 70’s.

The staff were very nice and friendly.

one room had a musty smell . no fresh air. windows couldn’t be opened. very dark and outdated. bedheads not attached to anything and would wobbly and bang against wall,very hard still mattresses. other room was bright and inviting , comfortable bedding.

nice for a stop over but should not be under the Mercure group name

location

although it was a part of the Mercure group it was not wi the in the standards of the Mercure brand the hotel is dated with furnishings that are not of modern times and it appears cluttered. rooms were hot with Airconditioning that was not performing, mini bars were listed with items but not stocked having to go down to reception or to the window of the kitchen to ask for a bottle of water. meals cut off at 8:30 pm making it difficult if you arrive later for service of food. tv facilities are of analog no smart tv and wifi is non existent within the building. rooms are quiet and clean but very aged

So disgustingly bad we walked out and did not stay!!

Not a single thing! Absolutely terrible!

This hotel should be condemned! Unkept, a smell of mould that would knock you over and dirty does not begin to sum up this hotel. Worst hotel I have ever seen. Couldn't stay because of the smell alone!

Very good

Great value for money. It is a 3 star hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Clean rooms. The continental breakfast was good value at $15.00. No problems at all. Happy to revisit.

Nothing I didn't like. My thanks to the staff.
