Incredible location, accessible to several points of historic interest and multiple metro lines, with a lovely bar just below which closed up reasonably early (about 1am), and the staff were friendly. It's not fancy, but I didn't need it to be.
There was some minor damage to the room when I arrived - stained carpet and scratched walls - but nothing terrible or offensive. You can hear your neighbours' every cough, however, but any complaints are basically unavoidable realities of travel.

Great location near cafés, bakeries etc etc. Easy walk to metros. Very friendly and helpful staff. Cheap for Paris!
It’s small and warms up in hot weather but the fan was really good. A bit too lively to leave the window open.

Special old neighborhood lodging on famous street in Bastille area. basic but very clean. Could use an extra electrical outlet per room and be prepared to lug your stuff up the narrow winding stairs to your room.
Great atmospheric historic bistro on ground floor serving simple old-school French and North African dishes extremely popular with young artistic crowd.
Not for a quiet getaway as very popular night life scene on Rue de Lappe but nice to wake to to the sound of birds and tennis being played if you request a back room.

The location was good! Right near Bastille station
It is above a bar, and the noise was loud until 5am every night. People literally screaming and shouting until 5am
