We enjoyed our stay at Chateau de la Motte Beaumanoir. There is no restaurant on site so be mindful that it's worth getting some snacks or nibbles if you arrive on Sunday or Monday which is when most restauratns are closed. We loved the view of the lack and the overall ambience of the estate. Staff were very kind and helpful. We spent a nice day in Dinan which is a short drive from the chateau.

Beautiful old building lots of granite and massive beams but made comfortable - fabric covered bedroom walls, lots of sofas and places to sit in downstairs rooms looking out over the moat and lake. Even a slate floored billiard room . Friendly reception and good filling breakfast included. Just a minute's drive from the dual carriageway look out for the sign on your right .
Nothing , but if you prefer hotels with right angles , modern furniture and don't like the odd scuff ,chip or creak please avoid and go and stay in an Ibis !

Nice chateau, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, overall basic rooms.
We were surprised they do not give more attention to details in making it even a greater experience, e.g a noisy fan in the bathroom, missing shower brush holder, no bin for rubbish at the breakfast table. Simple, cheap improvements that could boost the comfort ratings.
