This is a decent hotel conveniently located near the KTX train station (8-minute walk), making it easy to travel around Gangneung and the surrounding area. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance where you can enjoy lunch or dinner. The same applies for convenience stores (7-eleven, CU and Emart24)
We rented a car from Lotte Rent-a-Car, which is about a 7-minute walk from the hotel. We found this to be the best option, as reaching many of the beaches and hiking trails by bus takes considerably longer, while taxis can become quite expensive.
The rooms are spacious and feature double beds. Although the air conditioning units look a bit dated, they work well and cool the rooms effectively. The bathrooms are a good size, although the layout and amenities vary depending on the room—we stayed in two different rooms and noticed some differences.
The breakfast is decent, offering enough variety to start the day, though it is fairly basic rather than exceptional.
Overall, this hotel offers good value for its location and is a practical choice if you plan to explore Gangneung by train or rental car.
One small downside is that the beds are a little on the firm side. While they were still comfortable enough for a good night's sleep, they may not suit guests who prefer a softer mattress. In addition, a more balanced breakfast selection would have made the overall experience even better.
