Numerous art exhibitions take place throughout the year in the Palazzo Ducale, and the local markets and concerts in the squares are also interesting. The exhibition Dialogo nel Buio (Dialogue in the Dark), in the Old Port area, offers a unique journey of the senses: real situations are reproduced in complete darkness, for which a different way of seeing is to be learned. Guided tours of local markets and cookery courses offered by the region make it possible to taste typical local products. Thanks to its convenient location near the train station (1500 m), you can reach all the main tourist centres and seaside resorts of the Riviera. There is also the possibility of hiking in the underground Genova, whale-watching, boat connections to Camogli, Portofino and the Cinque Terre, excursions inland to discover the flavours of Liguria, which offers excellent extra virgin olive oil, typical pesto with good basil, farinata (thin flatbread made from chickpea flour) and focaccia (local bread with oil and lard).
