Lovely hotel with a touch of faded grandeur. Bedroom was exceptional with lovely stone balcony and traditional painted floor tiles and a side view over the lake. Breakfast was very good except for dietary needs. We used the Spa and the staff were helpful and very friendly, the treatments seemed like good value.
Our only complaint was in relation to breakfast. One of us has a food allergy and items were not labelled. The staff were not particularly helpful about this despite advance notice being given, a bit disappointed.

We booked a bit randomly, but finally it was a great choice! This is an old hotel, beautiful and full of charm, a perfect room and, of course, all the amazing spa facilities. There is no air conditioning in the room, but we did not miss it. Highly recommended!

This spa hotel has a fantastic location at the eastern end of Lake Ebro with stunning views all around. First opened in 1922, it continues to evoke the spirit of the past with its antique fixtures, fittings and furniture. Displays of photographs of the hotel in earlier times added to this atmosphere and we personally appreciated the décor and absence of computer and TV screens throughout most of the hotel (although there was a TV in the bedroom).
Staff were very friendly and helpful, a number of them spoke good English and there appeared to plenty of staff to manage the needs of some large groups as well all the other guests. Our room was very spacious with wonderful views of the lake on two sides.
The cafeteria is conveniently open all day and the restaurant provides a set 3 course lunch and dinner. We were impressed with our evening meal which was freshly prepared and served promptly.
The spa area also was redolent of a former era with classic tiling and plumbing systems but still provided an enjoyable spa experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel for its olde worlde charm and the natural beauty of the area.

Internet did not work at all - I have last seen that an 1 MB e-mail takes > 20 min to be sent out 20 years ago :-) Internet was consistently insufficient during the entire stay. Parking is difficult if you arrive after 6 pm. There is a beautiful lake behind the hotel but there is absolutely no access to it from the hotel - you unfortunately won´t be able to see it.
The hotel is not a 3 star category, everything is rather run down and rooms do not meet the 3* criteria. Bathroom smells due to drainage blocked.
Breakfast not in accordance with 3* hotel requirements: They serve bread from the day before, tinned fruit, tables with paper tablecloth without any cutlery or tableware and provide you with trays like in a fast food restaurant to pick up your food from the buffet. All in all okay for a hostel but not for a 3* star hotel.
