Stunning peaceful location, beautiful sunrise from the balcony. Staff were excellent, informative and friendly. The island is great, lots of nice walks. Perfect for a quiet stay.

Great, great owners.. a Lao / Dutch couple. They put a lot of effort to initiate/help with community projects over last 2o years.
The accommodation restaurant / bar - only one on Don Som Island , has an incredible view of the activities of Mekong. You can just relax on hammocks, have a beer, bait trip, beach swim, cooking class !!, hire scooters to see island ( awesome and cheap!!).
Don som Island is a rural place- 17 x3 k
Approx .. mainly farmers., very friendly …it’s something special.,
Ive been to 68 countries and 1000,s of stays. Go there!
An unfair question In a way.
In peak summer it’s hot - you survive the day fine - lots of shade- but if you are an average sleeper, you may suffer with lack of aircon at night. But I knew this , accepted less sleep, but never regretted the decision to go at the hot tone of year.
There is really not much else to improve- maybe to have a choice on the double bed of having a hard big pillow (standard) and a soft one.
But I’m clutching at straws. A great place!! Something different.,, have a go!!!!!

Thank you Sander and Tanoi for making us so welcome, for the absolutely delicious food and a unique experience of staying in a beautiful , tranquil un touristy location We were so impressed by your dedication to trying to benefit the nearby villages with all your creative solutions to make lives better Inspirational.
