Perfect little stay for work rest days!

Great location, very clean and comfortable. Communication from the host was amazing and ensured our stay was comfortable and happy. My partner and I both work for the emergency services, so we had organised this little trip in between work rest days. This was the perfect place on the coast, not too far from big cities or from the water.

Loved our stay at The retreat, hope to return

The property was perfect for our stay, was well equipped with everything we needed. Loved the extra touches, good supply of tea and coffee and a very welcoming treat of a bottle of Prosecco on ice.

Exceptional

Beautiful little space, perfect for a romantic getaway. Clean and had everything we needed. Bed was was amazing. Will definitely recommend and will be back.

Very good

I loved the hideaway feel of this room, being situated in the garden and surrounded by trees was a lovely and made it feel very calm and peaceful.

As the accommodation doesn't provide breakfast, it would be very handy to have a small fridge for fresh milk and cold drinks. The shower pressure was very low, particularly for washing hair.

Lovely stay for a couple of days.

Room only. Location good. Peaceful. Clean. Nice linen/towels. Superior toiletries. Plates etc for bring back food/drink to the room a nice touch.

The bed was comfortable but every time one of us stirred the whole mattress bounced. A coffee/side table would have been useful, after we'd moved the tea tray from the bed the only place for it was the floor. I would have expected enclosed individual tea bags not loose (no idea what they were but didn't smell or taste like ordinary breakfast tea to me)

Very pleasant and peaceful, a nice change of scenery.

Comfy bed, light and clean decor. Was nice to have a smart TV to use.

Lacked surfaces. Chairs were provided but these really would benefit from a small table so that they could be better used. Making tea and coffee was a little difficult as the area was very small and lacked surface space.

Quiet, peaceful night.

Beautiful, quiet and secluded room. Extremely comfortable and loads of space.

The way in is very dark at night with an uneven path, I almost tripped a couple of times (scaring the cat!). While the tea & coffee supplies were great, the kettle wasn't the best.

Absolutely loved it, would definitely stay again.

The location was exceptional, tucked away and very private. Very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Fixtures and fittings of a very high standard and feels very luxurious. Super comfy bed i think all that was missing was a complimentary pair of slippers

Beautiful place set in a lovely location. Very clean and very well decorated nice warm shower and very comfortable bed with lovely bed linen tea coffee and sugar an added bonus. A stones throw from the beach really lovely. Fish and chip shop amazing. Had a lovely stay

the manager was so lovely and informative and always replied to us. the stay was clean and the bed was divine.

the bed was so comfortable and the bathroom products were beautiful. it was super cozy and beautiful

would have really loved a little fridge and more knowledge on the products as we absolutely loved the shower products and would have loved to purchase some to take home. otherwise we really loved it!

Very homely , didn’t want to leave basically

I thought it was a very clean and cute property . Felt like home when I was here

There was some noise that kept waking us up in the morning . Sounded like some renovations. Otherwise it was a very quiet area

A real Retreat

The Retreat was quiet and secluded. It was a short walk to the waterfront. The accommodation was very cleverly laid out, with everything you could need, and the bedding was good quality. Also the tea and coffee tray was very good.

Peace and quiet on Mersea Island

Cute chalet style accommodation in the rear garden of a large house on a quiet residential street. Lovely comfy bed and plenty of space.

We found the chairs provided a little uncomfortable for relaxing in - had to sit on bed instead.
