If you want the Cayman experience away from the crowds of Seven Mile beach, this place is for you. Though it is not an ocean view, the bay with the sand and palm trees and the screened in porch were relaxing and perfect. The pool was clean and convenient as were floaties, beach towels, and a cooler. The ocean is just across the street complete with an outdoor bar and lounge chairs. We loved the kayaks to see the bioluminescence with the new moon (a bit heavy to carry but we did it). Well stocked kitchen though we packed a lunch and went out for dinner. Great to have a coffee pot and toaster for breakfast. The house was very clean with soft sheets and comfy bed/pillows. Host gave great directions and tips. We loved Tukka East for fresh seafood. Do the stingray tour with White Sands a few minutes down the street from Kaibo. Starfish point a short walk from there. I highly recommend walking less than half a mile to Caymon Kai public beach and drift snorkel to Rum Point. Fabulous!

We enjoyed our time at this condo. A very quiet and relaxing location with great amenities. We loved the opportunity to kayak on Bioluminescent Bay in the evening - what a great experience! It was a short bike ride or walk to Starfish Point and an enjoyable way to spend the afternoon. Snorkeling a couple times at Rum Point and along the North Shore. Definitely will recommend this property to family and friends. Thank you Zuzana and Lennert for sharing your condo with us!

This is our second time at the island houses (first time in this unit) and we just love this spot on bioluminescent bay.
There is a great view from this unit!! The host is very responsive and helpful and all worked out well. We also had amazing snorkeling on Rum point this year seeing turtles, an octopus many fishes and sting rays. Can't wait to come back!

The start of our stay was less than desirable but the owners were very attentive and made it right in the end.
The condo itself is in a fantastic location and was very very nice. The bikes and kayaks were a great accommodation.
Would definitely stay again!!!
Thanks to Zuzana!

We really enjoyed our time at Barefoot Lagoon. The house and set up was perfect for our family. We spent most of our time outdoors, but the inside was roomy and comfortable. We had coffee every morning on the porch enjoying a nice breeze and peaceful view of the bay. The convenience to the pool, bay and Rum Point was awesome as we bounced around quite a bit. Zuzana was a great host and provided a lot of helpful information. I would definitely recommend!

What a lovely property! The condo was a perfect size for our family of four; everyone could have a bit of space and still be together. Definitely get a car so you can explore more of the island. We drove all over for snorkeling. The property manager was great and helped us out quickly with a problem. You can go wrong with this spot if you want to get away from it all.

We enjoyed our trip. The house was wonderful for my family, my husband, myself and 3 grown/teenage children. Enough space for everyone to enjoy what they wanted to do. Everything you will need to rest and relax. Rum Point beach is small and quiet. Had to use the kayaks to get out past the sea weeds. Very few neighbors while we were there so it was almost like we had a private beach, pool and bay to ourselves. Definitely rent a car you will need it to get to the other side of the island with more attractions and the prettier beaches and water. Use google maps to navigate around the island as printed out directions are not completely accurate as construction on the island continues. Starfish point is 3 miles down the road from the house definitely go it is so much fun seeing all the starfish in such shallow water. Take inventory of what is already at the house before purchasing items at the grocery. We purchased several duplicates and left items at the house for future guess. Definitely get groceries near Seven Mile beach area but there is a nice market 4 miles from the house for quick items.

Bioluminscent Bay is unbelieveably cool! Staying at this location, you can kayak and snorkel it every night just steps from your door. Place was clean and as advertised, had all the necesarry appliances and oil, vinegar and spices. Rooms were comfortable, AC units in both bedrooms that worked very well, plenty of towels and bedding. We didn't dig through the snorkel gear and such much since we brought our own, but it looked serviceable. Got wonderful massages in our condo using the owner's suggested company.
We carried a kayak out to Rum point (rather than paddling around the peninsula from Bio Bay) and paddled out to Rum Point Coral Gardens and East down the coast a couple of times a day and there is good snorkeling. Lots of soft coral, which is very relaxing to watch it wave in the mild waves.
We had one issue where the seats on both the tandem kayaks were broken, and the kayak we could fix leaked. After an unsatisfactory response from the manager we contacted the owner and she immediately had a rental sent directly to our place. A+ service and turned our holiday around! Would stay again!

It is a lovely house directly on Bioluminescence Bay. You can walk out your back patio and use the included kayaks on the bay. Rum Point Beach is a 2 minute walk away and Kaibo Beach and Star Fish Point were a 5 minute drive. We could have used the included bikes but decided to drive. The area is safe and everyone was friendly. You really do need to rent a car to stay here, though. We should have stayed longer - you need at least 7 whole days, not including the travel days. Would strongly recommend this property - it was so nice to rent a whole house rather than a hotel room where you have to hear your neighbors talk and slam doors at all hours. The hosts were quick to answer any questions and gave detailed information about the house and area.

The two bedroom condo was exactly as described. Clean, well stocked kitchen and two bedrooms, all with A/C.
Rum Point beach was just steps away from the condo where food, drink, tables, and lounge chairs were available. Rum Point roads were quiet and easy to navigate. 3 kayaks and bikes were at the house. We didn't use the bikes much as it was quite warm during the day but the kayaks were great. We paddled during the day around the area. At night, we paddled in our little inlet to see the bio-luminescence. Would recommend this VRBO. One piece of advice- If you're going to prepare meals, shop in Georgetown before you get to Rum Point. The local grocery store that supplies Rum Point is 20 minutes away and not nearly as well stocked as the groceries stores near Georgetown.

Home away from home where every little detail has been thought of. Walking to Rum Point Beach to see the sunrise was precious and kayaking in the lagoon was the absolute highlight of our trip.

Great communication and support from the property owner. Property was beautiful and the whole family really enjoyed it. Only downside is if you like going to 7 mile beach a lot, trip by car can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours depending on traffic. So consider that in planning. Overall wonderful location and stay.

Great location for our family of 4, plenty of space for all of us. Kayaks were such a nice perk, awesome to night kayak with the bioluminescence! Comfortable furniture and beds, stocked kitchen and laundry was great. Our 9th stay in the Rum Point area, one of our favorite properties!

This property was well maintained and ideally located to enjoy the beach within a few steps and the condo's location on the Bioluminescent Bay was beyond fabulous. We used the provided kayaks to see the biolum right outside our back door.

Beautiful home with very comfortable furnishings. Zuzana was a perfect host who answered some first day questions almost immediately via email. We loved the location and enjoyed the kayaks. Even though we always travel with our own snorkel stuff, they had plenty of equipment if we hadn't. Perfect stay.

This island house is well-equipped with 2 bikes and 3 kayaks. Everything was as expected. Thanks!

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely Rum Point getaway. We traveled with our 4 year old and 16 month old and they loved it. The house was perfect. The location was great for kids. We will definitely go back one day.

Loved the property! Condo was exactly as details in listing suggested. There is access to all that is needed (towels, chairs, coolers, snorkel equipment) to either stay in Rum Point area or travel to any of the other public beaches. We loved that it was away from the crowds in the Seven Mile Beach area. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quite place to stay with still plenty to do.

Had a great week! House was perfect for us - 2 retired couples. The kayaks were a nice addition, allowing us to get out on bio-luminescence bay at night. What an experience - definitely a must. We used the bikes to get around the local area including Starfish Beach. A tour out to Stingray Point is another must. Thank you Zuzana & Lennert.

Great property for a family, has everything you need from kayaks to kids toys and snorkel gear etc. Don’t need to bring anything with you! My family really enjoyed the stay and look forward to coming back again soon!

We loved our stay on Grand Cayman!
The condo is on the Rum Point area of the island and close to many activities. Our stay was quiet and relaxing. If you enjoy doing your own cooking this place is great, just plan to arrive any day but Sunday as most stores are closed. Chisholms does have a small store nearby that is open Sundays.
The owners were super easy to deal with online and we very much enjoyed the entire experience.

As this was our first time to the Cayman Islands I did quite a bit of research prior to our arrival. I could not have been happier with the accommodations. They were exactly as described and everything (snorkel gear, coolers, chairs, beach equipment, kayaks etc) were in great condition. The house was just steps away from Rum Point and Red Sail Sports which was very handy.
We will definitely recommend to friends and family!

Thank You Zuzana! We had a wonderful time. Kept the house open the whole week not needing air conditioning. Used the kayaks and visited the beach at the cove opening all week, we had the beach to ourselves. Kayaked at night in the bioluminescent cove.
Your directions for the house and prompt communications were on point and greatly appreciated.
Went snorkeling often. Swam with the rays. Enjoyed Czech's Inn Grill and Vivine's Kitchen.
We found the house very clean and complete with everything you listed for the rental.
You've got a wonderful spot at Rum Point!

We had a wonderful vacation at Rum Point. From start to finish, the owner was incredibly helpful. The house is very well maintained and fully equipped. The location is spectacular with Rum Point beach being minutes away. The house came with bicycles, kayaks and snorkeling equipment. I would thoroughly recommend staying here. It was a lovely family vacation. I can't fault it.

The family loved our stay here. Great home very well equipped. Snorkel, kayaks etc. very helpful. Property manager excellent, minor problem quickly sorted.
Bio bay was a wonder at night by kayak, went out almost every night!
I am sure we will be back. Thank you.

Our family of 4 (2 daughters ages 10 and 13) stayed for 8 nights in early August and we had a wonderful time. Zuzana sent us very helpful information ahead of time and was great about answering all of my questions, and telling us where to buy food when we landed, as we arrived on a Sunday when all the grocery stores are closed. (There is a convenience store a few miles away from the property that has all the essentials.) Island House 11 is well stocked and well maintained and was perfect for our family. The beds were very comfortable, the a/c units cooled quickly and efficiently, the wifi and TV worked well, and the kitchen had all the essentials needed for cooking. Our daughters enjoyed their own private balcony off their bedroom, inside the lanai. We enjoyed the quieter atmosphere and being away from the crowds at Seven Mile Beach. We found good fitting snorkeling gear for 3 of the 4 of us (my 10 yo is petite and we thought fitting her might be tough so we brought gear along for her) and used it almost every day. The only thing that slightly marred our wonderful vacation was the presence of Sargassum seaweed, which is wreaking havoc this season on many parts of the Caribbean, and was parked at Rum Point for our entire stay. So we drove to other snorkeling sites and went on a few more excursions than we might have otherwise. We particularly enjoyed a 3 stop snorkel trip in the east end with Ocean Frontiers, and highly recommend them. We also finished up our vacation with a one tank dive with White Sands (a first for our daughters!) and the dive instructors were great. We took a day to swim with the dolphins (amazing experience!!) and wade with the sea turtles at the turtle farm. We were also able to do some snorkeling in that area, (and dropped in at Hell to send some postcards ) so even though it was a bit of a drive from the Cayman Kai area we did so much and had a great day. We visited starfish point twice, used the kayaks several times, and enjoyed the pool which was clean and had some nice shade during the day. We ate many meals in, but got take out from Over the Edge which is nearby, and Chicken Chicken at Seven Mile Beach, both of which were very good. We also had dinner one night at the restaurant at Rum Point, and found the food to be very good. Overall our vacation was fantastic, and we would definitely return to Island House 11!

Our family of six had such a memorable stay at the Barefoot Lagoon house on Grand Cayman! The home is right on the end of the bioluminescent cove and across from the ocean! The kids loved to see the fish darting under the water leaving a bioluminescent trail in it’s path. Their were three kayaks and also bicycles provided on the property for our use which made it so convenient. The house was stocked with plenty of bathing and beach towels and extra sheets. There were plenty kitchen utensils so you really could have cooked any meal you would want to make. It even had a crock pot! The location was great, right across from the ocean and Red Sail Watersports for excursions. We really enjoyed returning in the evenings to the privacy and tranquility of Rum Point. It was like we had the whole place to ourselves.

We had a great 9 day stay at Barefoot Lagoon. Zuzanna was very helpful and always answered my questions promptly by email. She even called before we left to make sure that we didn't have any questions.
The property was very nice in a great location. It is right on the bio luminescent bay and right across from Rum Point.
We really enjoyed having the 3 Kayaks (2 singles and 1 double) and the bikes. We exercised daily (despite the summer heat) and cooled off by snorkeling. 3 bikes worked great but the chain kept falling off of the 4th. She had said that 2 were newer and kept inside and the other 2 were outside in the storage shed. We saved a bunch of money on a bio luminescent kayak trip by doing it ourselves with the kayaks! We also were able to ride the bikes to the little grocery store. Though it is about a 20 minute bike ride, it was nice to get some exercise this way. The roads are very bike friendly!
It is a bit of a drive to 7 Mile Beach (~45+ minutes) but is not a big deal. We went over to this side of the island a couple of times during our stay. We liked being up on the North Side though as it was much less developed.
This side of the island is much more laid back and less developed. The snorkeling off of Rum Point was the best we found on the entire Island. We saw all kinds of sea life and the coral was AMAZING. It was about a 7 minute swim out to the reef. We could walk to Starfish Point and also had a good time on the Mastic Trail and at the QE2 Botanical Garden. Definitely take a GUIDED tour. The guide was awesome and told us a TON about the plants.

Rum point is a charming, little more secluded atmosphere. We had kayaks and bikes and kayak’d to rum point for fun. Although it’s a walk across the street otherwise. We biked to starfish point which is amazing! Clear blue water with hundreds of starfish. Kaibo club was a beautiful night time dinner place with the ocean and lights strung. Dinner was fabulous. We lover over the edge also for dinner. Another right on the water with beautiful views. We did venture over to seven mike beach a lot (about 30 min drive) for more restaurants and snorkeling. North end is nearer to rum point and we loved Eagle Rays for lunch and dinner - another oceanfront restaurant. The condo had more than enough beach towels and snorkel gear for our family of 5. Rum point has a nice restaurant and a second lunch/early dinner spot on the beach and plenty of drinks all around. Don’t miss Stingray Island which was the highlight of our trip. We did to a $1000 - 4 hr charter which was nice but I would not do again. Think you could def for everything in the smaller 2 hr charters for much less. We were told by locals the fishing was not good so we did not try. However when we left friends of ours did and they got plenty! So next time i would try and fish anyway.
Snorkel beaches we loved were Smiths Beach, Spotts Beach, Cemetary Beach and a snorkel spot down the ladder inside the restaurant Rackams. Had a fantastic lunch then jumped in the water.
The condo had very cool air conditioning so we were never hot. Plenty of room for seating in living room and kitchen area. Condo was well stocked with utensils and spices and all you need for cooking. The walks around the place were beautiful.
We can’t wait to go back!!!

We had a really nice time in the house and loved the location. We did so many things from snorkeling at Rum Point to Georgetown. We drove to see the breakers, Blow Holes and did the Cayman Caves. I am so glad that we were able to see the cove light up at night with the bioluminescence. That was fantastic!! The kayaks were in good condition too.
We found the house to be very comfortable, excellent wifi and tv service!! The beds and bedding were very comfortable too! Air conditioning and temperature of the house was great too!
The kitchen was well equipped and when we needed something the property manager was quick to bring it to us! The grill worked great and we were very appreciative of the charcoal that was left behind. I LOVED that the dishwasher was extremely quiet!
There was plenty of snorkeling equipment in various sizes in good condition for us to use. I appreciated that you had coolers, floats and toys for smaller children for us to use. The floats were in great condition and the boys at Red Sail sports were very nice to inflate them for us!!
We were very impressed with the overall maintenance of the entire property. Everyday someone was cleaning the pool area and surrounding cove.
We are very sad to be back home and would love to return to the Cayman again. You have been excellent and extremely thorough with all your information. I have enjoyed working with you. Thank you very much for the Hertz rental car discount too! The kids loved that we rented a jeep and drove all over the island. I have worked with many people when renting a property and you are by far the best person I have worked with!! We really enjoyed our vacation and will definitely come back!!

The Barefoot Lagoon island house has been our place to stay on Grand Cayman since 2004. It has always been clean and well maintained.
The location on the quiet side of the island offers relaxation for those who desire it but it also is a great spot for snorkelers, from the novice just beginning to enjoy the beauty of the sea to the more experienced who are looking to discover new undersea life. On our stay this year we found 3 new surprises - a sea horse under the pier, an octopus under broken coral, and queen triggerfish. This is in addition to our previous trips on which we have seen French angelfish, queen angelfish, rainbow parrotfish, a loggerhead turtle, a school of 8 to 10 thousand scads, as well as all the other plentiful sea life, hard corals, and soft corals.
The dining near Rum Point is casual and delicious. The Kaibo is only a 5 minute drive and Over The Edge is only 10 to 15 minutes. It you have the chance, on Friday mornings only, Miss Marsha serves up great island food out of her house. Ask the locals at or near Over The Edge where her mango colored house is. This year we enjoyed lobster, clam, conch, turtle and barbecued chicken. All delicious. Also look into Tukka where you can feed the frigate birds at 5 each afternoon.
So you can just relax at the pool or on the beach, be an active snorkeler, or enjoy many of the nearby restaurants. But best of all, you can do it all from the Barefoot Lagoon Island House.
