You could hardly get a more central place to stay in Sigiriya! You can easily walk to Lions Rock (which is great if you intend to hike at sunrise) There were plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby which was super convenient and it is set just off the road so it is quiet enough and private. The family who run it, were so kind. I loved that I spoke to multiple generations of the family, who were all willing to help me with suggestions on where to visit and how to use the public transport.
The room had 2 double beds in it, the bedding smelt clean, and I felt very safe and comfortable the whole time. It doesn’t get any better for $10 AUD.
For the price — you can’t go wrong. However just be mindful like anywhere else that you might have the occasional visitor.. 🦎🐞🪳 But there are bug nets above the bed to solve this problem.

We had an absolutely fabulous stay. The property felt very safe, comfortable, and peaceful, with quiet rooms that made it easy to relax.
The hosts were incredibly friendly and caring, and helped us make the most of our trip.
We would definitely recommend staying here and would love to come back again.
