The riad is beautiful, clean and full of traditional Moroccan character. We specifically chose a riad because we wanted our children to experience something different from a standard hotel, and it was exactly the experience we had hoped for. We received a lovely welcome with mint tea and biscuits, the staff were warm and helpful, and breakfast was excellent. The location inside the Medina was also very convenient, with restaurants and attractions nearby.
Unfortunately, the layout of the family room felt very unsafe for our one-year-old and six-year-old. The staircase and upper sleeping area are extremely open, with inadequate barriers around the edges. A small child could potentially go underneath the railing and fall from the upper level. We had booked seven nights but felt so uncomfortable with the risk that we left after just one night. Proper barriers around the staircase and upper level would make a huge difference for families with young children. There is also no parking directly outside due to the Medina location, although parking is available nearby.

We had a pleasant stay at Riad Amaris. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the rain shower was particularly nice. The location was very convenient for exploring Rabat.
The breakfast selection was a little limited, but it was still perfectly adequate.

Location is great, tucked away in a quiet street, but a very short walk to the busy medina streets. Nicely decorated courtyard.
The bed is basically like you’re sleeping on concrete - my arms hurt the next day. The toilet seat was broken - shouldn’t have been difficult to repair. There is no shower cabin so the whole bathroom gets wet when you take a shower.
