Hostal La Rosa Otavalo

A wonderful place that we would happily return to! This hostel offers huge, very comfortable rooms with private bathrooms. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the rooms were very well equipped. We especially appreciated the spacious wardrobe area, which made it so easy to unpack and keep all our clothes organized. Breakfast was served directly to our room at a time that was convenient for us — such a great and thoughtful service! There is also a beautiful rooftop terrace, which was perfect for relaxing and enjoying some fresh air. The staff deserves a special mention. From the lovely housekeeping lady to everyone at reception, they were all incredibly kind, helpful and attentive. We truly felt very well looked after throughout our stay. All the trips and activities around Otavalo recommended by the reception staff were absolutely spot-on. We could always count on their help, advice and excellent recommendations. We also arranged transportation to the airport through the hostel, which was an excellent choice and offered at a very reasonable price. It saved us a lot of time and allowed us to enjoy our last few hours in this beautiful place. The location is also excellent — just a 3-minute walk from the local handicraft market, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, and a grocery store directly opposite the hostel. We highly, highly recommend this place! ❤️ If you are visiting Otavalo, this is definitely a place worth staying at. We left with the feeling that we had found a truly special place.

Great location, comfortable spacious room, very clean, helpful reception staff

There is no communal area for relaxing or eating, hence why breakfast is delivered to your room. However this was fine for a short stay in Otovalo as we spent most of our time in the town and ate out.

Pos: Staff guidance on local hiking was expert level! Cotacachi was excellent hiking! clean, timely basic breakfast at the room, friendly staff with shuttle to Quito international airport $100, safe room and safe building, daily house keeping, cost effective, a couple blocks from restaurants bus station and the big Otavalo artisinal Poncho market.

Neg: old pillows, windows are thin and broken in places lets in neighborhood alarm noises, breakfast in room alarm lights and loud old McDonald, so bring ear plugs! Please stop folding the sheet at the foot of the bed backwards towards the head instead of under the mattress! Hot water is not always consistent or strong.
