It's not the Ritz even though you feel you're paying to stay at the Ritz, you're paying for location

Very disappointed.

Breakfasts were sub standard. Facilities were sub standard. Was like the worst back packer lodge I've ever stayed in, but I paid $15 000 for a week to stay there!

Yeah, pretty much everything could have been better......

The location was good

There was no reception between 10am to 2pm, minimal staff on and the service is poor. The meals there are extremely poor

Freezing cold room for $600 a night is not value for money

Great location

The room was cold. The central heating did not heat the room. We informed staff who stated he may need to turn the boiler up while he continued to stay seated and not do anything. The room remained cold. We slept wearing socks, track pants and jumper and remained cold

Disappointing

Location is great.

Bedding configuration is wrongly described on booking.com . Reception & management blamed the error on booking.com , we booked a king room which says it has 2 double beds and a single bed. However on arrival we had one king bed. When I complained to booking.com they assured me it’s the hotels responsibility to make sure the details & bedding configuration on booking.com are correct as they have no control over what the hotel puts on here. During our 2 day stay we walked past reception to find other people also complaining about their rooms & bedding configuration being different to what they had booked. Staff also told me a number of people had the same issue this season - however nothing has been done to fix the issue Staff didn’t care - they were very unhelpful - it’s seen as a “major failure” under the NSW consumer law to wrongly advertise a holiday rental / hotel room. Booking.com tried to get us a refund / partial refund however were unsuccessful- so we have now reached out to fair trading to help us rectify this issue . I suggest anyone else who has had this issue does the same !! Besides the bedding issue - there is no parking , the tv doesn’t work , and the staff are all off chops ! Such a shame as the location is great - but a lack of care from staff and mangers .

Exceptional

Extremely helpful staff, greatly appreciate all the assistance and willing to help attitude. We stayed over the June long weekend and I couldn’t get the car snow chains on. The Manager put them on and showed me how it is done - greatly appreciated.

The place is going through a renovation and some of the furniture and fittings need an upgrade and refurbish.

We had a memorable time and was great being so close to the snow, but needed some minor improvements

Very close proximity to the snow and it was really special being able to step out onto your own patch of snow. Staff were friendly and helpful. Generously sized bedrooms and we had our own personal mud room which was a bonus and super convenient.

We found the night time heating too warm and was unable to change the temperature. Advertised free Wi-Fi was unfortunately not working as was the coffee machine. Breakfast was nice but had limited choices and no gluten free options. Limited parking so we had to park elsewhere and hoped there would have been one parking spot per room.

Absolutely the worst accommodation I have ever stayed at.

I didn’t like anything at all about this place. The cups, mugs and glasses were absolutely filthy. The tray that were sitting on was full of crumbs and grime. It was actually really disgusting. The cups and mugs etc were also the same as if they were just rinsed and not washed. The breakfast was very poor quality. Our dinner apart from the chicken schnitzel which was burnt was actually ok. Room was very noisy as it’s an old place and you can hear all the water running through the pipes. Our room was situated near a stairwell outside leading from the kitchen im assuming… under the stairwell there was a dingy set up with table etc and there was loads of empty alcohol bottles & cans plus cups and mugs littered everywhere. Around 1:30am we woke up to loud talking and someone shining their phone torch into our window as the curtain didn’t cover the entire window. we got up to see where it was coming from and realised it was from a few guys sitting under the stairwell drinking 😡

Our rooms weren’t serviced as stated, I had to find clean towels myself by searching for staff every day I was there. We paid for parking and we weren’t given a space as random people would park and no one knew what to do about it. The room is very run down. There was no internet and our tv did not work the whole time we were there. I was told a technician would look at it but never showed up.

Disappointing

No one answers the phone and there is no facility to leave a message. The food is below average. Our bathroom was left dirty with toothpaste all over the floor. Powerpoints in the room did not work and had to be fixed daily Parking has to be booked. It would have been nice to have been informed before arriving. The dining and "lounge" area is freezing. The fire is lit too late and the room is full of smoke sending the alarm off daily. The toilets have no soap, the hand dryer does not work and no toilet paper unless you ask for it. No WIFI available. It was not working, however they gave a password. TVs don't work in the rooms.

Fantastic hotel - small simple improvements - overall unreal

The hotel is fantastic staff great room great breakfast great and location

The hotel needs some signage at or near shuttle hut to show -guide guests easiest way to hotel! Maybe improve over snow pathway direct access!

Disappointing

No much, very bad experience.

No car parking, too noisy, music till 12am and some drunk and noisy guests screaming each other and hitting the door till almost 2am, which no one from staff did anything. Kids didn't sleep till mieddle of the night. Very disappointing. Shameful for a place like this. Worse experience in a hotel.

The helpfullness and good vibes of the staff made it hard to leave. Will definitely be coming back again!

Awesome location. Just a stones throw from the slopes. Fantastic staff with an awesome atmosphere and always a smile on their faces. Couldn’t recommend more!

Passable

Friendly staff, very approachable and willing to help. Happily picked us up from shuttle bus and dropped us back to Skitube. Good hot showers and nice towels..

The rooms, restaurant and bar were not warm enough. Wardrobe and bathroom doors need fixing. Food and drink choice in restaurant and bar limited.

Disappointing

The staff were friendly, the lodge comfortable and the breakfast was good. Smiggins proved to be the perfect location for our kids to learn to ski - lots of easy but interesting runs. Great access to snow play at the end of the day.

Due to lockdowns there was only one other group staying. Despite this, we were restricted in using the amenities on numerous occasions due to rules I expect were made for busier times eg no use of the pool tables before breakfast. The dinner was not great although the host was surprised and concerned when none of us finished our meals - we had considered going to Jindabyne for dinner the second night even though our meals were included
