Large room, easy beach access. Wonderful staff.

The staff was extremely accommodating, and the beach was exceptional. We asked if we could drop bags early, and since our room was ready, we were able to put our bags in our room, and were able to check in early. Our flight the next day was later in the day, and they offered to let us hang at the hotel and beach until we were ready to catch our flight. There are lounge chairs just outside the rooms, which are 30 feet from the water. There are foot washes for each room to help keep sand out of rooms.

Absolutely loved my stay at this quaint lil gem. Would not stay anywhere else on my next trip.

I visited St. Maarten back in April and was lucky enough to find the Horny Toad Guest House. As I was traveling alone I was worried about safety and getting around. From the moment of my arrival, they met me at the gate to welcome me, helped me to my condo, and gave me all the info I would need for my stay. Everyone at the condos were so friendly and enjoyed happy hour in the evenings. The location was close enough to walk to the market and some restaurants. And anytime I needed a cab, they were always accommodating to call me one. The room is not fancy but has everything needed, and having the kitchen makes it so nice to keep a few groceries at hand. And the view from the balcony and the private beach area can't be beat, so peaceful with no crowds. My vacation was such a wonderful experience, and the Horny Toad played a big part of that.

Guesthouse Vibe on Beautiful Beach

Wonderful hosts, fantastic location on the beach. Perfect guesthouse/inn vibe. Rooms not elegant but 100% perfect for our needs/price point. Quiet, lovely gardens, beautiful beach, relaxing & fun. Very accommodating hosts.

Wish we could have stayed longer!

If you are allergic to resorts look no further. This place is quiet, relaxing, well maintained, and to top it off has an amazing view with 8 large rooms directly on the beach. It's a little oasis in the hustle and bustle of St Maarten. Nice touches such as sunscreen by the BBQ, beach towels, mini library in your room, fresh flowers on the table and tons of storage for your swimsuits!

Superb guesthouse with gorgeous view

Peaceful location with view of the water and gorgeous sunrise and sunset. Comfortable and spacious room. Impeccably clean with everything I needed in the kitchen. Hostess and staff were super helpful and friendly.

Counting the days to come back

The view from the room was unbeatable, and just a few meters from the shoreline. Nothing more relaxing than sleeping with the sound of waves. The Kindness of the owner (Debbie) and staff (Cherry). On the same Guesthouse beach, you can go snorkeling and see hundreds of fish, of a wide variety of species (French Angelfish, Sergeant Major, Smooth Trunkfish and Yellowtail Snapper, among others) Margarita, Daisy and Betsy, The Horny Toad mascots, for helping us on our petting needs. There are a lot of restaurants, supermarkets and shops nearby.

Ideal beach location with fantastic view!

The photos online don't do it justice! This place is beautiful and RIGHT ON THE BEACH! It was perfect. Great balcony to sit and have beers overlooking the bay! Close to the airport and most places we wanted to go! Friendly staff and awesome room - everything we wanted.

In all of our travels I have never enjoyed my room and stay so much.

Everything was so comfortable and cozy. Looking right out our door and seeing the ocean so near was a plus. The staff made sure we had everything that we needed.

I was sorry that we had only booked part of our stay at this resort. If I could have gotten out of the other condo and been able to stay here I would have done it in a minute

It was an excellent place to start off our week of relaxation.

Debbie, the proprietor, was outstanding. She went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. The view was spectacular. The room was huge!

It would be better if it wasn’t so close to the airport. That being said, the place did have very good soundproofing.

The hosts, Debbie and Doug are amazing. Attention to every detail. Small and intimate facility. The resident dog, Margarita, and cat, Betsy made you feel like family. Very knowledgeable with all things island.

Zen-ful peace and rest!

If you are looking for all-inclusive, this is not for you. This is your own little place, immediately adjacent to the ocean. Buy some groceries locally, keep fresh in a wonderful well stocked kitchen, and choose when to just sit and relax looking out over the ocean and choose your own libation. This is peaceful rest! The evenings are breezy and the rhythm of waves on the beach will put you to sleep. Deb and Doug were perfect hosts. Knowledgeable and willing to help. Words cannot thoroughly express how I enjoyed my stay. My neighbors, fellow patrons, were friendly and always engaging in conversation. Proximity to the airport and Simpson Bay are ideal! I will definitely come to stay here again. Room #5 is my favorite. I step out onto the sand and marvel at the ocean view before me every morning!

A clean comfy apartment with excellent beach access.

Great kitchen. Easy parking. Helpful hosts and friendly housekeepers. 5:00 sunset happy hour. Very clean. No bugs. The shower is excellent. It is also within walking distance to a fun bar called Nowhere Special. It is also a quick drive to Carrefour where you can buy groceries and hooch since there is no restaurant or bar on site.

The beach and sand are beautiful. Though directly in front of the Horny Toad are some rocks underwater. You'll want to swim about 100 feet east of the Horny Toad to avoid them. Not a big deal though. We plan to return one day.
