About this house rental
Nestled in Crystal Lake, this attractive house for $525 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. A 12' aluminum row boat and three adult kayaks included in rental. This spectacular rental is a natural oasis from a busy world, yet accessible to many of northwest Michigan's popular tourist destinations. The house can sleep up to 10 people comfortably. The master bedroom is a loft area with view of the lake with king bed and private bathroom. The main level has 2 private bedrooms both with Queen beds and 1 shared bathroom. The finished lower level of the house has a private kids bunk room and a pull out couch with queen bed in the entertainment room with a full bath on that level. Lake views can be enjoyed from the main living area and spacious deck with picnic table and outdoor furniture. Relax and let the stress of everyday life disappear as you hear the gentle waves hitting the shore while sipping your morning coffee in the screened three seasons room. This house has a very large yard leading to the lake - perfect for outdoor games. The dock has a seating area and ladder and is accessible to some of the deepest water on Big Platte Lake. You will find plenty of basic fishing poles and equipment inside the garage for your use. A 12' aluminum row boat and three adult kayaks are also available to use at your own risk.

We had some family up for our 50 th anniversary and all had a great time. Fire pit is in a perfect location and the yard quite large. The location is great with plenty to do in all directions!

Me, my husband, adult kids and sister in law stayed here for 4 nights and had a terrific time. Everything was perfect - the location, accommodations and especially the beautiful lake with private dock and small sandy beach. We were all happily surprised how well stocked the house was. You only need to bring clothes and food. We used the row boat, kayaks and fishing gear. There was even a goody bag for us. Any time I reached out to owners I quickly got a response back. We had a small emergency before we left for our trip and the owners were so kind and understanding by accommodating our special request. The home was immaculate too. Do not hesitate to rent this place!! You will love it.

This is truly an outstanding property on Platte Lake! We have stayed at many different properties over 40+ years, and this rates as good as we’ve had.
The owners were responsive, the house was perfect for our family- 6 adults and 5 little ones- 7-11 yrs old
The house size, deck, back yard, beach, and dock all fit our needs to make it a wonderful vacation- we’ll be back!

We caught a bunch of bass and perch from the dock, we were super close to a lot of great Lake Michigan beaches, and for floating down the Platte river.

We had an awesome week at "What' cha Dune"!!! From the minute we walked in the door and were greeted by a sweet "Welcome gift bag" the accommodations were endless!!! we have stayed many places on Platte Lake for the last 25 years, so I am used to packing up on house hold items that are never provided by the Renters for our week, BUT this Rental has been the BEST we have experienced! So gracious with sharing everything we need to have fun on the beach & lake, and the kitchen & Bedrooms were awesome!! Cant say enough good things! WE WILL BE BACK!! :)

This is a wonderful property. Perfect location on the lake with all the necessary amenities. It is quite spacious and comfortable with something for everyone. The owners were terrific to work with and always responded quickly to any questions. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our vacation time which ended all too soon.

This property and experience was the best we have ever had. We have been coming to Big Platte for over 30 years. The place was incredible and so well stocked. The owners were so responsive and nice. I could go on and on but just trust me when I say it was a wonderful vacation.

Family vacation
This location was wonderful. He provided us with great weather. And I almost caught the biggest fish in my life. We had a wonderful time. Took use of the kayaks and fishing equipment frequently.Towards the end of the week we had some issues with the iron in the water staining clothes. Highly recommend this house. I wouldn’t hesitate in a second to go back

Great time on Platte Lake
Wonderful property managers who were responsive to all of our questions. Thank you for sharing your well-equipped, comfortable lake house that had everything needed to make a great vacation. We had a wonderful time on Platte Lake and love the location on the cove. Having the use of the kayaks, life jackets, beach towels and all of the other amenities was a plus! The dock and sandy beach made it easy to access the water and we enjoyed kayaking and swimming. One of the days, we rented canoes from Riverside and canoed down the Platte River to Lake Michigan. We also rented a pontoon boat from MacDonald’s Marina in Frankfort and it was very convenient because they delivered the boat by water and put in a mooring right by the dock. We had a great week and will be back!

Wonderful family vacation up north
This was our second time renting this home. We loved the location as it felt private yet was near the places we like to visit when we go up north. The weather was perfect for enjoying outdoor activities during our stay but the home was well stocked with books, games and a large television (which we never turned on!!) for rainy days. We hope to visit again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The house had everything we needed. The location in Birch Cove is probably the best on Platte Lake. We will come back!

Great family vacation!
My family loved staying at this property. The owners were very easy to communicate with both before and during our stay. The house was clean, spacious and comfortable. The well-stocked kitchen, second refrigerator in the garage and gas grill made meal preparation very easy. We appreciated the access to the fishing equipment and kayaks, making use of them almost every day. The location of the home was perfect for all the activities our family loves doing when we are Up North. We look forward to staying again next year!

Week on Platte
We love Platte Lake, my parents brought me as a children.... now I’m bringing my children and grandchildren! (For the last 30 years)
We ha a beautiful week of weather except a bad storm early in the week through the night. Which brings me to my biggest disappointment about this rental property. The yard was a swamp the entire time we were there. We were very limited with the kids to the dock or beach. Luckily my sister rented a house down the road with a beautiful yard and we hung out there almost everyday. The house was very accommodating inside but not sure we’ll go back.

Beautiful lakeside home
We love being on the water. It's a must for our trips for Michigan. Normally we stay on one of Glen Lakes but nothing was available on the water so we tried a new lake this time. We like to be able to swim, paddle board, kayak, bike or run right outside our door and this place was great for that. Loved having use of the owners 3 kayaks! The home had great accommodations for our family of 6. Much more modern than the cabins we are used to staying in.
The only negative was that the owners of both houses on either side of us were having reunions of some sort the whole week with people camping on their property and cars all along the street. They weren't obnoxious and were actually very friendly but wasn't quite the quiet getaway we are used to.
We found lots of great places to eat in spite of pandemic. Some still only do take out but most have dine in. Also close access to Platte River tubing/kayaking and a great multipurpose trail in Beulah. Overall great family vacation

A Perfect Week
This home provided everything needed to make our week on Platte Lake very special. The layout, room sizes, furniture, kitchen and deck were perfect and easily accommodated our party of 6 adults. The grounds were spacious and the dock and lakefront access served our pontoon boat and wave runner very well.

Fantastic vacation!
We loved our stay! The kitchen had everything you would need. We used the kayaks and boat. The kids loved the welcome goodies. Fishing off the dock was fun. We enjoyed it so much we are planning on returning next year. Thanks so much.

Wonderful Home on Big Platte Lake!
