Iconic hotel in Victoria Falls. Fantastic service and a high quality stay. Well located for accessing the falls and entry into Zambia. Hotel staff organised anything I needed, including pick up from the airport.
Nothing bad to say, just to recognise that it is expensive in comparison to others but you pay for quality!

Well located, colonial era property. Friendly staff. No charge on the contents of the minibar.
No gym to speak of. Limited swimming pool operating hours. Some of the rooms are quite a distance away from the main facilities and the property adds on a $5 charge for a room service delivery! Very rigid about providing a late checkout when our flight was delayed by a few hours — finally was able to get a 45 minute extension beyond the 10:00am checkout. The dining room needs formal attire, so obviously we couldn’t check it out since we were taking a break from Safari…

The history and reputation. The swimming pool.
The noise. Although not fault of the hotel, the incessant helicopter noise was terrible. But, also, the gardeners and their leaf blowers meant we couldn't hear each other conversing in the lobby. Also, it was eye-wateringly expensive and I had hoped we would be rewarded with value.
