The day onsen building was superb, very beautiful environment!
The building was simple but the recreation room was very nice. There's no restaurant in this building either but there are a few vending machines and microwaves to use.
We were not aware the booking was of Red28, another hotel building and not the main onsen hotel. It was confusing and we did not know how to get there until we got lost a few times.
The room we got had a particular odor to it. A little off putting. We tried to open the window but the screen was broken so a lot of bugs flew in.
There's a men's washroom on the third floor and females on the second floor, none in the room, so we have to walk around to take a break. Also no showers in the building so in summer after walking to the onsen and back, you'll be covered in sweat again.
It's also quite far to walk to the other facilities besides the onsen building so because we checked in late due to poor weather, we were unable to use any other facilities.

Location in a lush forest. Multiple activities available - good for families with children and teens. Bowling, game rooms, hot deep sea water spa, day spa with many services. Good breakfast. Location near several beautifu beaches.
The property is very large with scattered buildings - you have to walk or drive to get to the various areas. In hotel Red28, the shared toilets for men and women are on different floors.

So many things to do at this resort. Bowling, deep sea spa, day spa, regular public baths. The restaurant at the day spa was good and the breakfast equally delicious at the hotel. Free drinks in the Deep Sea lounge as well as darts and pool and other games. The room was huge and the views spectacular.
A shuttle bus to take you between places, including Izu Kogen station. I will return every time I come to Japan. Minimum 2 nights but I could stay 5-7. Fabulous ,fun place. I was alone but still loved this resort. Next time with friends! Great place for families too.
Japanese check in / reception lady was very condescending. And one of the shuttle bus drivers also Japanese obviously did not like his job. Very unusual to encounter unpleasant Japanese people. However the lady in the breakfast restaurant Ishikawa san and the man in charge were lovely and great at their job. As were the staff from Nepal and Myanmar. Shame that 2 people let down their hotel with unpleasant service. Might I say it wasn’t just me as a foreigner, one Japanese lady I spoke to said they were nasty to her as well.
