Although we were unable to complete any hikes or our pre-booked Dark Sky gazing activity due to poor weather conditions, our motel accommodation was comfortable and we were grateful to have close access to the facilities at the Hermitage.
There was no communication from staff during the snowstorm to let patrons checking out know when it was safe to leave their accommodation, resulting in cars becoming stuck in snow drifts and blocking roads. My husband and I had to assist several drivers to manually push cars back onto the road.

- The motel was spatious and clean.
- Although the room is not facing Mt Cook, but the view outside the room was still spectacular!
- kitchen has everything we need and it was very clean.
- Toilet has a dryer and towel dryer that comes in handy and keep us warm after shower.
- Parking is right in front of the room
- it's right in the village, so location is prefect!
It's a bit costly, but to be expected at the village.

Close to the walking trails, beautiful views. Great for family and staff were quite accommodating to set up sofa bed as well.
Room was fine but there was this old spice cooking smell that lingered.
