The hotel is in a tranquil area, about a 10 minute walk from the main plaza. Because of this, it is very quiet.
The property is relatively new, and the rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. Our room was impeccably clean. We had both a couch and small table - both of which are so rare these days, but they totally make the space more livable (e.g. you don't need to sit on the bed while you're planning your next day).
Breakfast was very pleasant and sufficient. There are several small local restaurants within a minute of the hotel, and many more near the main plaza. VdL is very charming, and it's not just a tourist destination... there is a vital local population, and restaurants that cater to locals (which of course are happy to have tourists too). We enjoy finding small restaurants and using our Spanish (and this is increasingly hard in some over touristed areas).
Nothing - everything was fine. We only had one night, and wished we had at least one more.
