Nicest place I’ve stayed in Colombia!

Beautiful clean room with an incredible view, lovely courtyard. Staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive and took care to accommodate my vegan diet. The property is just a short walk to the plaza. Area is very quiet at night and black out shades assure a good night’s sleep.

This is a charming hotel in a magical town!

Beautiful, modern facility built with old world charm and style to match the beautiful local architecture. The staff here is wonderful in every way. The charming manager Laura was there to answer all questions and requests, as well as many suggestions for touring the area’s attractions, and including coordinating transportation. The breakfasts were excellent, and made with love. The location is about five blocks from the main square - a perfectly safe walk day or night. All the usual items asked were excellent: hot water, sparkling clean rooms, friendly and professional staff, beautiful building and courtyard. We had a second floor room with beautiful vaulted ceiling. Villa de Leyva is a charming, safe walking town with so many restaurants and bars for a small town. It is the picturesque Colombian town one dreams of staying while writing the world’s next great novel!

We were only here for three days - we could have stayed a month!

Relaxing, safe, clean, and great breakfast.

The property is very clean and maintain well, and staff is very helpful and cordial. Although the area is very safe, the hotel did make sure to lock all doors at all times for the safety and privacy of their guests. The hotel does have parking, which is also behind locked doors, and the breakfast is really good.

To be honest, I am not a picky guest, so there really isn’t something I disliked about this hotel. Anything I may not have liked about this or any other hotel in the area would be based on my experiences in other hotels, in other countries, which would be an unfair comparison. Based on what I know, this hotel is very nice in comparison to the others in the same area.

Nice ploce to stay

Wonderful place to relax. The personal was really nice and help us with everything. The place is beautiful, the architecture is remarkable.

amazing place to stay in villa de leyva, eat breakfast outside.

amazing building, comfy bed, attentive and kind staff at the reception.

breakfast was quite bad for the property level and price. waiters didn’t seem like they wanted to give us attention or a welcoming experience during breakfast. our only sin was arriving at 09:40 to the dining room, 20 minutes before breakfast is ending.

frustrating in parts, enjoyable in others.

It is a beautiful property

The management took a lot of short cuts. The towels were very old. They did not replace any of the toiletries when we ran out and we stayed 4 nights. Every day we had to go to the lobby to have a water glass put in our room. There weren’t bathrobes in the room or a hair dryer. It is rated as a 5 star hotel yet it didn’t provide anything of a 5 star hotel. Every day the breakfast was the same thing. The wait staff were horrible. It appears that they are not trained by management. I can’t say enough about how bad they were. Everyday I asked for a spoon to stir my coffee and I never got one. It was almost impossible to get a second cup of coffee. The city has a lot of hotels at the same price range and are much better at being a high end hotel.

Everything was perfect! Even though the location is a bit far from the main square, it is perfect for resting at night. Breakfast was delish! And the room was beautiful.

immaculate, quiet, cool stay at maria bonita!!!

facility, though 8 years old, and so well-kept it appears as though it is brand new. beautifully well-maintained. lovely staff — fabien was kind and helpful. super conscientious of covid practices which we totally appreciated. delicious breakfast. and nice, quite location, about 5 blocks off the main square plaza mayor.

sound travels in the hotel/courtyard, rooms — just lots of hard surfaces so you hear a lot, your neighbors, etc., but not all the time. wasn't enough to ruin the trip in anyway. and wifi crapped out a couple times, but again no big deal.
