This comfortable, cozy cabin in the heart of Glen Arbor is great for a couple or small group. Private frontage on the Crystal River is just across M-22 (35 MPH zone). The two-bedroom, one-bathroom home welcomes up to five guests and is perfect for a summer or fall retreat. Outside you will find a deck, gas grill, and fire pit. You can walk to Glen Arbor for shopping, dining, ice cream, and more, and there are tennis courts about one mile away. The Sleeping Bear Dunes Dune Climb is just four miles away! Nature and wildlife abound. Located on the main road through Glen Arbor. Pets allowed. -- THE PROPERTY -- Sleeps 4. The location was good, loved the wooded back yard and loved being close to town. However, after reading the positive reviews about cleanliness we were very disappointed because it was not clean. There was also a horrible smell that required the use of 2 entire cans of lysol. There is black mold and rust on the refrigerator, food scraps in the cupboards and drawers, dirt in the corners, unclean surfaces, dirty rugs, etc. There was no wood for the fire pit and be sure to bring soap, shampoo & conditioner, blow dryer etc. No internet. Simple directions for using the TV would be helpful.
We love rustic, but unfortunatly the cabin needs cleaning, freshening, and simple basic fixing up. We found the bed to be VERY soft and mushy and the "additional" non-refundable cleaning fee for pets was much higher than the industry norm, especially for a tiny 4 pound non-sheding dog.
We are in the area on a regular basis but unfortunatley we would not stay here in the future. Wish we could have provided a better review...

This was our 11th year in this cute cabin. We always enjoy our stay here. While it is small it has everything we need and is walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the beach.

Glen Arbor is a nice little town, but the rental we stayed in was well run down and lacking in kitchen space. No where to place groceries or prepare meals. Washing machine and dryer were old and run down. Traffic was noisy and many cars and trucks line both sides of the street in front of the house. It was a good location to depart for other locations in the area. We felt the price was too high for what we got.

Great location, very convenient to downtown GA. Off a busy road and gettyng to the beach meant walking on this busy road. Cabin had all the essentials including washer and dryer and was comfortable but could use a little TLC. Mattresses need to be replaced. Fire pit was a bonus.

Seamus loved lying on the porch and watching the people walk or bike by on the road. There were deer to enjoy in the yard most days. Place was very quiet at night. We slept with the windows open and we never do that at home.

This is our second year staying here. The cabin provided everything we needed for the week. Centrally located in the Sleep Bear Dunes, it allowed easy axis to all the hiking trails. We also enjoyed the short 5 minute walk to Glen Arbor for dinner, wine tasting or a quick trip to the grocery store. Many evenings we walked to Lake Michigan to enjoy the incredible sunsets. Minimum Roku live tv, but Net Flix is provided.

We had a very nice stay at Fernwood. Nice little cabin with very comfortable beds. We enjoyed being within walking distance from Glen Arbor. The Crystal River is not very accessible on the property. It is deep, mucky, and lots of downed trees. We were able to play in it down the street though. Lots of nice beaches nearby as well.

We stay at Fernwood every year and always enjoy our stay. We were very disappointed this year to learn that there is no cable television in the cabin. We enjoy watching local news, weather, and sports on television and this aspect of our trip was taken away. While there was Ruku in the cabin we were not able to watch anything as it appeared we needed a subscription to enter access codes. Next year we may seek a rental that ensures cable television. The other issue was the outside grill. It was filthy!! We had to purchase a grill brush just to clean the grates to make it usable. We had invited guests for a cookout and were aggravated about the work we had to do before serving dinner.
Overall this is a wonderful little cabin. We have seen the condition deteriorate over several years and hope the owners to more to maintain this property.
