About this apartment rental
Alfama 5 is on the first floor (no lift) of an old building recently fully refurbished.
Renovation was complete and carefully accomplished: pre-existing old materials like the wooden floor and ceilings were incorporated with the new. Apartment has now a modern and well equipped kitchen and a full bathroom, functional bedrooms with large closets and air conditioning (heat and cold) in the living room only.
Decoration is sober in a cheerful family style that makes the flat very cozy.
The apartment can accommodate up to 4 people with full comfort. It is composed of a living room and dinning area, modern kitchen and two bedrooms with double beds. A full bathroom and a small storage room complete the apartment.
Alfama 5 has a small balcony and two large windows that let in lots of sunlight. Balcony faces the little square in front of the entrance to the Castle with really nice views and the Castle is literally at your feet.
Lastly, it is not possible to drive a private car nor take an Uber/Bolt car till the front door of the apartment.

Beautiful little apartment. Very accommodating host. The AC is only in the living area but bedrooms connect to that and we were provided with fans so we were able to cool off both bedrooms fairly well. Just steps from the castle Sao Jorge. Only taxis can access the location, not Ubers but we mostly walked. Close to the Pingo Doce grocery store to stock up on snacks and wine. Highly recommend this apartment.

Great location, the castle is a must see. Right next door. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby and easy to walk to other areas. Apartment has everything you need. Host was helpful and very available.

We really enjoyed our stay and the location was convenient to public transport. The flat is located up a steep hill but taxis (not Bolt or Uber) are allowed making it easy when luggage is involved. Our host and his employee were very responsive to a couple issues that were quickly resolved. Additionally we got help to arrange for a taxi to the airport when communication with the taxi company became an issue. We enjoyed our stay!

The location was great, the apartment was clean and the host was amazing. The only issue was that we could hear everything that was going on in the apartment upstairs, as if there was no sound proofing. There was a lot of noises during the night or early in the morning, so we did not sleep well at all during our stay.
