What a special place. Quiet, clean, comfortable and beautiful. Our young girls loved running around the property, playing around the house and walking under the apple trees. Perfectly situated and had everything we needed.

Due to the 1,000-year storm that ravaged Vermont the weekend before, the owner was very kind in permitting us to cancel, despite there being a no-cancellation policy and the house being technically accessible and in good condition; we greatly appreciated the offer, but we chose to file a claim under our travel insurance instead rather than impact the owner. Note that this was a highly unusual situation that should not be construed as changing the owner's standard policies in any way. Communications were timely and very clear. Ratings regarding listing accuracy and cleanliness were required, so we had to respond based on listing and post-storm photos; we have no reason to believe that they aren't accurate, however (we are very familiar with the area and have seen the house and property before). We would definitely recommend this property based on our experience.

Apple Hill is a lovely, charming, cozy and yet spacious home. This home (not just a house!) is welcoming and comfortable. The location is ideal, secluded just enough and yet convenient to town, hiking, shops. It was a wonderful spot for us and our adult children.

Well maintained and well stocked house with a beautiful garden and great view. Lots of books and comfy setting. Made us feel at home right away. Sitting on the deck on a sunny day and enjoying lunch as a family was one of the best moments. Thank you Mary!

The house and area is lovely - just as pictured. Very quiet and secluded. There were some additional contracts to sign prior to staying at the house and additional information about the property sent via email. There were very specific instructions about the trash and there is a fee if this is not followed. We had a short stay and just took all our trash and recycling with us to avoid any issues. Overall a nice weekend in Vermont.

We had an amazing time in Woodstock and this house was the perfect base for everything we wanted to do. It was minutes away to downhill and nordic skiing as well as the town of Woodstock. We loved the wood burning fireplace and had the whole family around it in the evenings after dinner. The bedrooms were all a good size and very cozy. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked with Trader Joe’s shampoo, Meyers soap, clean towels and generally showed that the owner goes that little bit further to make guests feel at home in a lived-in space rather than just renting it out as a side business. The property was beautiful in the snow and there were lots chairs near windows to watch the snow. There were even sleds in the garage for the little one to use on the hillsides surrounding the house. Overall, a fantastic experience that we hope to have every winter!

We (six adults) had a wonderful weekend stay in this house. Despite there not being much snow for skiing, we found wonderful places to walk and visit. The house was comfortably furnished, with lots of different areas to visit, read & play games, and the central kitchen and dining area made for great visiting while preparing meals and sitting down to eat. A great time was had by all!

We were lucky to arrive just after a big snowstorm which created a picturesque, magical Vermont experience. Apple Hill is a charming, tastefully decorated and very comfortable home. The owner, Mary Bush, was so kind and helpful with suggestions on where to eat, etc. The delicious cheese and crackers and wine were a nice welcoming touch. We had an amazing stay in South Woodstock and hope to return again soon!

My three college roommates and I loved staying in Mary's lovely home! It is spacious, clean, comfortable, well-designed, and has an incredible book collection. There are many relaxing spaces for hanging out and a fully equipped kitchen. It's a great location, only a ten minute drive from the adorable town of Woodstock with a huge amount to do in the area. It is the perfect place to stay for a relaxing vacation in the Upper Valley.

Our family of 6 attended an out-of-state wedding in Vermont. This house and property were beautiful and exceeded my expectations. The house was very comfortable and well-equipped with everything we needed. I only wish we could have stayed longer to really enjoy the beautiful rolling hills and peaceful setting. When you drive onto the grounds at Apple Hill, you are simply stunned by the beauty and tranquillity. It's almost like being in the Cotswolds. Then you enter the house are yet again stunned - simple, elegant and graceful. The kitchen is really well stocked, the bed linens are high quality and make for a restful night of sleep. Sitting on the large deck with a cup of coffee, or later in the day a glass of wine, and just soaking in the cool serene air is bliss. This was our sixth trip to the area, and Apple Hill wins the prize as the best accommodation. Cannot wait to return.

Mary's home is a beautiful retreat in South Woodstock. The entire home is charming. It has cozy bedrooms, a cook's kitchen, charming living spaces, a perfect deck for morning coffee, and lush gardens and rolling hills outside. Perfectly located close to the South Woodstock Country Store and the Kedron Valley Inn's Ransom Tavern. It is also an easy drive into Woodstock for shopping and dining. Mary is so kind and helpful. My family had a wonderful stay at this lovely house!

We have visited Woodstock many times, but always stayed as a hotel. We loved staying on Apple Hill - the location was perfect near the Kendron Inn. There was great hills for sledding. The house inside was very cozy with a great fireplace, tons of space and a very comfortable kitchen for cooking. We were just a short drive from Woodstock Green, Farmer's Market and the Suicide Six Ski Slope. The host was very helpful and constantly in communication. We hope to come stay again!
