A very large room with a good size bathroom and everything was very clean. Good water pressure and hot water day and night. The bed was comfortable with nice linen and pillows. Breakfast was a standard Turkish buffet. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking available directly in front of the hotel. Short drive into the main part of the city, and a small supermarket is available around the corner.
Not a good place if you are a light sleeper and get a street facing room. It is located on a very busy intersection and the windows are not soundproof, so the loud traffic noise continues until at least 11pm-12pm. The room description said there was air conditioning but then I found out they only allow it to be turned on in summer. You cannot cool the room from the built-in heater (no on-off or temperature control switches on heater). It became quite stifling and opening the windows created more traffic noise. If you fall asleep with the windows open during winter you will wake up freezing, so if you want/need to control room temperature confirm the room description matches the room you are paying for. I paid for the laundry service (washing/drying) and some items came back quite damp.

Overall, MD Barbaros Hotel was good for the price. The hotel offers plenty of parking, which is a big advantage, especially for guests travelling by car.
The breakfast could be improved, as I expected a little more variety and quality. Also, the mattresses in the room were quite worn and would benefit from being replaced.
