Positives: the room itself and the breakfast hamper were fabulous, the shower room en-suite was fine and modern,

Negatives: difficult to get proper COLD water, unless you reduce the water pressure; my own duvet was far too thick and on 1st night woke up sweating. The other bed's duvet was a sensible thickness, for this time of year; the total lack of staff was definitely a disappointment, but can get the background reasons for this, such as keeping costs down. However, we were able to use a table in the dining area for our shop-bought fish and chips and made sure we tidied up after ourselves; the parking arrangements could have been better: I decided I should pay £1 to acquire a parking disc which I discovered can be used throughout Northumberland which is certainly clever, but we should have been able to park right outside the Hotel, as there are spaces there. I read the sign to do with parking and realised I had to find a nearby shop to sell me a disc and that was relatively straightforward. To be 'safe', I decided to park thru the stone archway where we enjoyed 24-hour free parking; We wondered if the noisy seagulls were going to be an issue, but amazingly, it didn't bother us too much
