The Sea Shack has been highly rated, especially by families with younger children for ease of accessing beach/fenced backyard! Sit back relax with family/friends as you enjoy all that Pleasure Island has to offer. **The Sea Shack is located in a quiet residential area with a "no party/event" policy. All guests must have prior approval.** Cottage provides PERFECT destination for families/couples looking for place to "get away" from our "virtual" worlds. Walks on beach are quite therapeutic! We stayed four nights and thoroughly enjoyed the house. It's immaculately clean and is only 1 block from the ocean. The owner was very responsive and helpful. Highly recommended.

The Sea Shack was in an excellent location. The beach is right across the street, short walk to the beach. All one level, nice backyard and plenty of parking. The kitchen has plenty of pots/pans, plates utensils etc and plenty of towels/washcloths for bathing. The pictures match the property. The owners are very responsive. The only thing I would recommend is having an additional key in the lockbox or add a code lock so when others aren’t coming back to the house at the same time it would be nice to have an extra key to give them or they could use a code. Overall great property and I would definitely stay again!

If you're going to the beech, this is great; its right across the street. Check in at 4pm seems a bit late for a check in but otherwise pretty smooth process. outdoor shower on property to rinse the sand and salt off before coming in the house. Location is a bit away from amenities; nothing is really walking distance besides the beech. So you do need to drive to even the boardwalk. Most food options are not healthy or super kid friendly so if you have little kids you may have to just make food, which is what we did and just made a couple trips to the grocery store to stock up. Fortunately there is a full kitchen with dish washer and a clothes washer/dryer so the comforts of home are present and convenient. so all in all a great place if your only goals are to hit the beech and relax.

Very clean and well stocked cottage with super easy access to beach. The walk to beach was closer than some of our previous beach front houses. Twin and queen beds were comfortable. Loved the outdoor shower. First time at Carolina beach and we found it fun and entertaining with good surfing waves.

We had a great time on our family vacation at the Sea Shack. The house has a great location, easy to walk back and forth from the beach when needed. The decor is also very cute. The yard area was very nice to hang out in and for kids to run around in. We never needed to contact anyone during our stay but the info from Delaine before check in was very helpful and check in/out was so easy. The house was as the listing described and had all the amenities we needed during our stay. I did give 4 stars because there were a few things that could be improved. The house is kept at 80 degrees between guests and it took a very long time for the AC to cool it down to a comfortable temperature. It was not able to reach the temperature we needed until night time, so the whole first day of our stay was hot. There was also a lot of old grease on the shelves in the kitchen so the cleanliness there could be better. The appliances, dishes, counters were clean though. The bedroom with the king bed has water damage on the wall. It would also be nice for each bedroom to have a dresser for easier clothes storage. The queen bedroom has a dresser but no closet and the other 2 rooms have a closet but no dresser.
I would stay here again and the positives of the house definitely are more than the negatives. We really enjoyed the Sea Shack and Carolina Beach.

The Sea Shack was the perfect beach house for my group of five. Single beds for kids, bedrooms for parents and grandparents have everyone a place to sleep without doubling up. Really appreciate this house has separate eating/ cooking/ leisure areas so guests are not on top of each other all the time.
Larry and Delaine provide chairs and sand toys - bring your canopy and you are all set to walk across the street to the EASIEST BEACH ACCESS EVER from a non ocean front home.
Check in and check out a breeze, plenty of parking, the owners very responsive. I would rent again with no hesitation.

Loved the location and easy access to beach. Property was clean and well stocked with all the necessities. Only issue was the yard had some small cacti growing in grass, always wear some sort of shoe. Would stay again for sure.

Our family had a wonderful time and staying at the Sea Shack made our vacation easy. Literally across the street, we could travel to the beach's many public access points with ease and return quickly if needed. The location was excellent with just a 2 min drive to lots of restaurants and the pier. The Sea Shack worked great for our family of 6!

This was PERFECT! A great place to stay for the 5 of us. It was a very short walk to the beach, right by the beach access, comfortable beds, outdoor shower, close enough to everything without hearing the boardwalk, plenty of things you would need for a great vacation home.
The owners we very friendly, accomodating, and responsive. I highly recommend! We enjoyed our vacation-a large part is to finding this great place! We hope to return again the future!

Great place to stay with lots of room for the 5 of us that stayed there. Access to beach was great with a short 2 minute walk. Kitchen stocked well with essentials. Plenty of off street parking. Nice side yard with swing.

Amazing little gem of a property...easy access to beach my parents are older so they rode their scooters all the way to beach...actually just a min or 2 walk....love this place will stay again...the host Delaine was great...beach access is straight across the street.....thanks for the wonderful stay

We absolutely loved our stay in this well-appointed and adorable beach cottage! We didn't realize how close it was to the beach, which was incredibly convenient. It's literally across the street from the beach making it great with kids to run back to the house for food for bathroom breaks. You can even see a small piece of the beach vista from the kitchen window (although a few larger buildings across the street block the full view). The presentation of the house is lovely - it's very clean, light-filled, and cheery with the choice of paint colors/decorations. We appreciated the beach chairs being provided as well. We fit very comfortably with our family of 5 and I've already recommended this house to my sister-in-law for a family vacation. As far as the town of Carolina Beach it's an older beach town, which we like, but the restaurants are slim pickings. We really liked the food and atmosphere of Ocean Grill & Tiki Bar, which is a short walk from the house and it's right on the beach. Our teens enjoyed taking selfies with the sunset by the tiki bar! Overall a 5 star stay for us!

First time using VRBO and visiting Carolina Beach. Everything went smoothly and we had a great visit. The beach access is very close and walkable even for young children. The property is tucked off the main road enough to not seem right on top of it.

I don't think you can ask for a better property. We were a family of three and loved our stay. Access to the miles of beach is across the street for walking, shelling and they provide beach chairs if you just want to relax or swim. They have a great back deck for reading (or coffee) in the morning or cocktails at night and a new gas grille.
The place is beyond cute, very comfortable and a great location to explore from. It is easy to get to any sites whether the State Park, Aquarium, Fort Fisher, or the Boardwalk The hosts were helpful and hope to be back again! Great memories made!

We enjoyed a weekend at the Sea Shack. It’s cute and nicely decorated with everything we needed to be comfortable for the weekend. It’s very close to a beach access and walkable to the Greenway for hikes.

We had a nice off-season get away with a short walk to the beach. There is plenty of parking for visitors and the beds were comfy. We enjoyed cooking our own food on the grill provided. The Sea Shack is conveniently located, close to great restaurants such as El Cazador and Uncle Vinny's. We also drove just a short distance down the road to visit the aquarium. Larry and Delaine were great hosts.

It was the first time I had tried a Vrbo instead of a resort and wasn't sure what to expect. It was a perfect!! We had 2 toddlers with us and this property was perfect. It was so close to the beach and we had the most fun. In fact we are already planning a trip back and hope to use this property again.

We very much enjoyed our vacation at The Sea Shack. We had three adults and three kids 3 and under, and the house worked out very well for us. It's very close to a public access point to the beach and made it very quick/easy to make quick trips back and forth between the house and the beach. Great outdoor back shower, gas grill out back, kitchen stocked with all the essentials including a dishwasher and small washer/dryer. Check-in and checkout process were both very easy (didn't need to go anywhere else to pickup or drop-off keys). Ample parking is available in the front of the house. Good location, close to a number of restaurants, boardwalk, and the Aquarium.

What a wonderful location ! Perfect for beach access and walking to the boardwalk, local shops, dining too! We had all we could ask for and we’re very comfortable and at ease here. Pls Ty of parking. I would remind you to bring beach towels as we forgot them. Beach chairs were in great shape and there were some beach toys too! Everything noted on the description of amenities is there at your disposal. Excellent choice !

When we arrived to this welcoming beach cottage, we knew we were happy with our decision. It has a welcoming, clean, and well taken care of exterior. This home is an easy walk across the road to the beach access - maybe a two minute walk until our toes were in the sand! The neighborhood was quiet at night which we really appreciated.
Upon entering, we were happy the cozy cottage looked even better than the online pics (which we were already happy with). The house and decor were fresh and light, the beds comfortable, and the kitchen and laundry nice and clean. Although this trip was just my husband and I, this quaint home could have comfortably had our three adult children stay with us.
The only thing I would say is I didn't realize through the description is this home is Carolina Beach(not Wilmington). And we were very happy with this as we stayed in Kure last year. We didn't realize it was literally a few minutes away!
The home is close to everything. Easy walk to the beach, close to the pier, minutes drive to Fort Fisher and Aquarium. We got our hushpuppies at Bowman's which were fantastic. We went for a walk at Carolina State park which is a close drive away. There was a walking,/bike trail nearby, but we didn't have time to use it.
The owners were great with communication. I would highly recommend this beach home for a lovely vacation and would stay here again.

All the things you need
All the things you need to start you off are there(paper towels, seasoning, pods for clothes washer, soap, bath towels, etc). We liked the fenced back yard for the kids. Great beach access(right across street) and boardwalk about a mile away. If you decide to drive to board walk for carnival in summer just know it’s about 20 bucks to park or you can pick the few 2 hr parking spots that is about 5 bucks per hour if I’m not mistaken.
So many nice options to eat that is close by including peach cobbler factory.
If we had a question or needed anything, the owners were responsive and very helpful! I recommend anyone to stay here! Oh and there were family games to play in the home.

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!
We rented the house for a week for my daughter's 50th birthday. It was a perfect place to stay for my husband and I and our daughter and husband! We loved everything so much. I would definitely use this house again. It was very pretty and convenient to the beach. Just walk across the street and you are there. They had a supply of things to use for the beach as well as the kitchen was fully stocked. The beds were so comfortable. I also liked the fact that you didn't hear others talking in the rooms next to you. Very quiet. We loved being able to ride the golf cart just about everywhere on the island. At night we would ride around and through the neighborhood looking at all the houses. On Thursday night we walked across the road and watched the fireworks at the Boardwalk from the beach. What a wonderful week we had!!! The only thing I would have added would be to have a full length mirror. The other mirrors seemed a little high to look into for us short people. :-) But otherwise, WE LOVED IT!!!
