About this house rental

Our vacation rental is in our primary home, which means we are approved to keep offering our vacation rental after the new rules are in place in May of 2024. We have always operated 100% legally and will continue to do so. Our property is a spacious 3.5 acre parcel with lots of gorgeous trees and outdoor space right in the middle of the city. We have a lovely roomy, newly renovated one bedroom suite that sleeps 4 in a quiet, residential area of Nanaimo. Great for couples on a get away, as well as families. Space for all to spread out to stay and play with board games, sit by the fire in the living room or in the eat in sun porch and the generous outdoor areas. There are two new beds in the spacious bedroom, one is a full/queen and the other is a California kind size, as well as a very comfortable queen sofa bed in the den. All the sleeping areas have black out motorized blinds to help you rest. Hotel quality mattresses, linens and well appointed kitchen and bathroom with gorgeous granite counters and large shower with built in seat to help you feel at home and enjoy your stay. There is a new salt water communal in-ground outdoor sports pool redone this year available in the summer season with a very large concrete deck area surrounding it with a fire pit. Just yourselves and occasionally the owners will take a cooling dip. The suite also includes a full laundry room with folding counter and brand new washer and dryer. This is truly a property you can choose to stay in at, cook your meals in the generous kitchen and relax with mother nature surrounding you. It is just a 5 minute drive to ocean-side parks, great restaurants and unique local shops to explore. Nanaimo is a small city located mid way on amazing Vancouver Island, home to many beautiful ocean side parks, great hiking on Mount Benson and lots of green space to explore and enjoy. This cute suite was in the perfect location for us! It had a well stocked kitchen with everything we needed, to a "spa like" shower! Lots of space for us. Joy and Chris were awesome hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. We will be back for sure!

We were in Nanaimo for a sports competition, so this location was excellent for that as well as a close drive to food stores. The suite is indeed well appointed, organized, and very comfortable. We appreciated how restful it was, and our kids loved cooling off in the pool. Joy was an excellent communicator, helping make our trip easier.

We thoroughly enjoyed a five day stay in Joy and Chris' beautiful suite. It was generously set up with everything you could need, including a fully stocked kitchen, beautiful towels and linens, and three very comfortable beds that fit even our tall teens! The suite is spacious with lots of room for a family and games, books, and streaming services to keep everyone entertained. We swam in the pool every day and the kids loved the slide, toys, and inflatables. The pool is situated in a stunning garden setting, which was lovely to relax in as well. Joy was a welcoming host who communicated quickly. We highly recommend this gem of a suite and will return ourselves!

We had wonderful stay at this property. Joy was lovely and accommodating and the pool was a big hit. It was a great home base to explore the area and we’d happily stay here again. We will be recommending this spot to our friends.

A well stocked 1 bedroom in the lower section of a beautiful home on lush propery. Owners were very nice with the perfect balance of attentiveness and privacy. Comfortable bed, nice shower and private laundry made life easy! Great location.

This was our 2nd stay in Joy's suite. The suite was very clean and well equipped. The bathroom was well stocked, and the beds are very comfy. We appreciated the use of the laundry facilities as well as the bbq and the pool. Great location and easy access to all areas of the city.

Pool was most exciting for us, it was fabulous to relax by the pool. We spent most time outside as we felt inside was colder and darker than anticipated. Both of our allergies flared up inside but allergy pills helped. My son loved the bed, but me (adult) chose couch eventually to sleep on as my body was sagging into the mattress too much. Kitchen nicely stocked which was wonderful. Laundry super easy to use. Loved the black-out shades in the bedrooms.
Landlords were super nice and kind. They even left us some ice cream treats to enjoy, it was lovely,

The property was beyond clean and inviting. they were accommodating with any info or help we needed...the beds were awesome..close to highways for sightseeing, and amenities were second to none!!!! we will be back!!!

Very clean accommodations, nice, quiet and a beautiful property. Joy and Chris were amazing hosts. We were visiting friends and this was a great location, quick to anywhere in Nanaimo. We had two toddlers with us and it was a child friendly place to stay. I recommend, and would stay again.

Lovely and comfortable
We stayed for 10 days and loved every minute. The condo is situated on a property that feels like you are in the middle of the forest but yet very close to resources. Joy was friendly and helpful and understanding. Loved the brand new bathroom and found the kitchen complete with all equipment necessary for cooking a meal. Really loved the sun room for painting and crafting.

Large suite with nicely equipped kitchen. 3km walk to harbour and downtown. Groceries within a kilometer. Wonderful hosts.

Spacious home away from home
We stayed over the Thanksgiving long weekend and had our son, his girlfriend and their pup spending most of the weekend with us there.
We had plenty of room for all of us, and had most of what we needed to cook a big Thanksgiving meal. What was not in the suite, Joy happily provided as she and Chris live upstairs. Joy picked some fresh sage and beans from her garden for us too!
Communication with Joy was superb, she was quick to answer any questions we had.
We had a fire one night, which Chris prepared for us, and it was great!
Joy and Chris are very quiet, and great hosts and I would not hesitate to say with them the next time we are in Nanaimo visiting the kids.

Cozy, friendly home away from home
We were looking for a cozy getaway near the ocean and this suite was perfect! Joy and Chris were very welcoming and helpful during our stay. Our pup was welcome too and we felt right at home by the fireplace. The suite is spacious and the kitchen had all we needed. The beds were so comfy and everything was clean and there were many special touches throughout. The garden and hanging baskets were beautiful and attracted many birds - highlighting the beauty of BC's climate. Joy provided lots of helpful tips for local restaurants and unique shopping. The location provided easy access for traveling north and south of Nanaimo for the local sights and day trips. We will definitely be back! Hopefully in the warm weather when we can make use of the pool.
