Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and have booked to stay again. The property is a beautiful Victorian house - full of character and with many original features. Dermot and Katie are a lovely couple and very friendly and welcoming - nothing is too much trouble for their guests. The rooms are beautifully decorated, very clean and comfortable. While some of the facilities may not suit every guest (shared bathroom, continental breakfast): I believe Alma House to be fantastic value for money and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a central hub from which to explore Newbury and the surrounding area.

The best B & B I've stayed in throughout my 6 weeks in the UK. The hosts were fantastic, super friendly and so helpful. I felt like a very welcome family member in their home. The room was lovely, bathrooms excellent and the garden was a great spot for reading. Location was perfect for all I wanted to do in Newbury and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
